AN: Hello everyone, I hope you will enjoy this chapter. I have included Desna's Pradesh family a little in this and hope the characters are close enough to what they are portrayed as. As always, all rights belong to their respective owners. Enjoy.

*Third Person POV*
At the Council in Fiore there was a meeting of the Wizard Saints. They were discussing the need for a ranking of a wizard since they heard about said wizard's country of origin.
"Do you really think bringing in this mage and honoring them as a wizard saint will really stop them from turning on us?" a well dressed man asked as he walks in the room to a heated discussion.
"Perhaps, but whoever this mage is, they show a magical prowess that is far beyond anyone we have ever seen Draco," rank four Warrod says.
"Well then. If that is the case, what rank would you consider them?" a now identified Draco, number two rank wizard saint drawls.
"To be able to rid almost all of the dark guilds occupying Alvarez, including Hell's Nightmare, and if our information is correct, is indeed a Celestial Mage." upon the shocked looks, Warrod continues, "I believe they are worthy of attempting to dethrone Serena."
All of them look at the final picture of a figure in a black cloak with the constellations on it being the only designs to be seen.
"That's the Nightshade. They've made their way through many countries, even Pergrande, without much trouble. The two that follow are known as the Ghost and Shadow. Based on what has been seen, Ghost has a Lost magic whereas Shadow is seen to be using Maguilty Sense. I agree that they should be allowed to challenge any of the Saints to take the place of that person." a woman with purple hair said.
Warrod seemed to smile, "If it is acceptable, I believe that the Nightshade should have the chance to battle all ten of us saints. If they beat any of us, they have the right to take the place of any saint they beat. The only catch is that the saints cannot tell the others about any details of their battle. The only part that they should know is if the previous saint has been defeated. An impartial judge will be overviewing these battles and determining whether or not the battle is won fair and square."
"Who would you suggest then?" Draco said.
"A mindbender mage would be best. Preferably one not a citizen of Fiore." Draco said, "If amendable, I nominate Kaleb Pradesh, Mindbender Mage. Master of the White Sea guild in Bosco. His connection to the Immaculate Light allows for no liars and can determine whether or not the contestants are fairly competing. He is also the Fifth Wizard Saint of Bosco."
So by the end of the meeting, it was determined that the Fifth Wizard Saint of Bosco, Kaleb Pradesh, will be overseeing the first ever trial of the Wizard Saints.
*Kaleb's POV*
In Bosco, I was doing guildmaster paperwork and Farron was helping with the finance. Thane came in with a confused and shocked mind. It was obviously important enough that he was delivering it himself.
"Kaleb, this came in person. The messenger will wait for your response." he said.
"Okay?" I said and opened the letter.
My jaw dropped. It was a letter from the King of Fiore. He wanted me to oversee the first ever Trial of the Wizard Saints of Fiore for the Wizard Saint candidate known as Nightshade. He wants me to be the impartial judge for the trials and the rules were listed. The wizard saints weren't allowed to tell the others of the results of the battle only if they won or lost. The rules for me were to pay attention to the minds of the two mages fighting to keep it fair. I was allowed to bring two guests. Additional knowledge was that Nightshade is known to be a Celestial Mage and an incredible strategist. In fact most of my guildmates have come behind the mage to take out a dark guild that was reduced to rubble and the mages in question were tied up in ways that Vander has confirmed that they've started tying up their suspects in that manner. The memory that Vander gave us was hilarious because the men were tied up in ways that if they really didn't want to move wrong, even with how open Bosco was.
I answered the call to agree to judge these trials. Once signed, I called in Cris and sent a messenger to Dean Kalperdean to see if they would accompany me in this voyage. Cris agreed and I was waiting on Dean. Cris is the Lunar Dragon Slayer and has healing capabilities so he would come in handy. I'm offering the second guest slot to Dean because of how Nightshade is known to use Celestial Spirits. The acceptance came quick from Dean, who was wanting to evaluate the strength of Nightshade. Apparently he's a fan.
*Makarov's POV*
I groaned because now I have to train…AGAIN!...Oh well. I sighed because even though I have to train, it gets me away from the guild paperwork for a little bit. Mira took over responsibility for watching the guild. Ever since Lisanna died, she's mellowed out so she takes over for me. She still challenges Erza to a spar every now and then. I knew that Kaleb was to be the judge of the battles and that the mage known to Earthland as Nightshade, has quite literally blasted through the first four. Which is quite the accomplishment already since they weren't slackers. Even now, I worry because of how quick they were taken down. The letter from Jose was quick to arrive and to let me know that Nightshade would be challenging me in two weeks time.
I told Mira of the situation and she agreed to watch the guild for me during that period. I thought that with my Titan magic, I would have some chance, but I lost to the strategy and quick thinking of Nightshade. It was quickly proven that Nightshade is a quick thinker and quick to change strategies with how often I found myself in holes or in situations where my magic was quite useless. At the end, I was reduced to using hand to hand and in my old age, I surrendered when it was clear that Nightshade won. Kaleb had ruled that the battle was won fair and square and to notify Jura that Nightshade would come for him in three weeks.
*Third Person POV*
Kaleb, Cris, and Dean were all very impressed by the sheer power, strength, and wisdom Nightshade had at their fingertips. Dean was completely impressed by how Nightshade played to their spirits' strengths and even the spirits whom he thought had rough abilities were used. Jura, Warrod, and Wolfheim were tougher to beat, but were beaten nonetheless. Wolfheim at the end of the battle was very impressed by Nightshade's strategies and was hard to read in battle. He was somewhat miffed, but came to the conclusion that if he was going to be beat by anyone, it was to Nightshade. He sent the letter to the last of the saints, and quite honestly was looking forward to seeing if Nightshade could take Draco and Serena down. Draco being the Second Wizard Saint and the second strongest with Serena being the strongest. Draco was actually excited to be challenged hoping for a good battle or spar since he hasn't had many that were his level to challenge him.
Just like the rest of the Saints, Draco was beat and he had bowed in respect to Nightshade for managing to do what many couldn't. With one final Saint to go, this was a battle the others could watch as that was also in the rules. The previous saints would watch the matches. Boy were they surprised when Nightshade had taken one look at the man and had decided to NOT use the spirits. They thought that Serena was fast, but Nightshade was faster. They were pretty matched, each giving as much as the other gave, but after Serena insulted the Celestial Spirits, Nightshade had sped close to Serena and made him eat his words. By how rusty Serena was in close combat situations, it was obvious to many watching that Serena was used to taking out his opponents with long to mid range shots. Nightshade had gotten inside his guard and took him down quickly after that. It took dislocating Serena's two shoulders for him to surrender.
Nightshade was the winner but when their back was turned, Serena - who didn't like that he lost - tried to cheap shot Nightshade. The shot never made it to Nightshade as Serena suddenly found himself being suffocated by a ball of water and staring into the eyes of a VERY angry Celestial Being known as Aquarius. He passed out with the very real threat of no mortal would know how he died if they even found his body in his brain.
All in witness of this action were pale for they did not want to cross Nightshade for fear of being mutilated beyond recognition. The King of Fiore had announced that Nightshade now had the ability to choose who's spot they would like to take. To the surprise of only a few, Nightshade had chosen to become the First Wizard Saint of Fiore.
*Lucy's POV*
I managed to disappear from Earthland, well, Nightshade me disappeared. I decided to settle down after accomplishing the title of First Wizard Saint and proving to anyone that a Celestial Mage could indeed be strong. Unfortunately, some Celestial Mages have lost their lives trying to accomplish something they aren't strong enough to do without proper training. Most were using their spirits as tools, beings to be stepped on to get higher in society, to gain fame and fortune with. I now go around looking for the keys in contract with mages who abuse the spirits. I gained a title, Kelas the Celestial Guardian. This time I let the name be known but not my appearance. I was currently working with Lepus, Musca, and Corvus to open up to me more. Lepus had hesitantly trusted me and it was fun working with her. Musca was forced to use his abilities for battle instead of intel. His abilities allowed him to go places without being seen since he's a fly and is small. His previous owner used him to annoy enemies and basically go inside the person instead of what he was supposed to be able to do. He was supposed to only be an intel gatherer. Corvus' story was much the same but his skill set was wider than Musca's. Corvus could be used in a mele fight, causing mass confusion in a big group or causing another to hallucinate. Corvus was a thin man and had shied away from me when he appeared at first. I was gentle with him as his aura was sending out a signal that he was a gentle soul at heart. He refused to look me in the eye as he knelt in front of me. I knelt down in front of him and gently lifted his face to look at me. I promised him that I would never intentionally hurt him and that I was his friend if he'd allow it. And if he wanted to work with me. Now he is also one of my best spirits for finding out information on a target. In fact, in tandem with Musca and Lupus or Lepus depending on the situation, he gathers so much in so little time. I use Aquila to track targets from the air while Lupus hunts from the ground.
At the moment, I was heading towards the nearest city to see what kinds of things were in the magic shop and then off to Fairy Tail. I had Osita and Aries out because Osita wanted to come out and just cuddle while Aries was telling me about Leo and her experience with Karen Lilica of Blue Pegasus. Osita was a fluff ball and the spirit of Ursa Minor. I was looking for her mother, Ursa Major, and hoping she was okay. After about an hour of walking, I finally made it to Hargeon and found the magic shop. I sent Aries home and kept Osita out and simply shifted her to my back. I walked inside the quaint little shop and the man at the counter looked bored.
The man looked up, "Oh hello. Welcom. How may I help you today?" he said.
"Do you have any keys? Spirit Keys to be specific." I asked.
"You're in luck." he said as he pulled out four keys.
Keys that had actually flown right at me and I had to catch them before they smacked me in the face. The keys were of Canes Major, Canes Minor, Ursa Major, and Fornax.
"Oh my, it seems they like you. Normally they are 10,000 jewel for each of them but because they seem to like you, I'll charge you 20,000 for all four." he said.
"Why thank you sir." I said as I handed him enough to cover the original cost of the four keys.
I told him to keep the change since I felt bad for him not getting enough to cover the hit of selling the keys. I was on my way towards the outskirts of the city to make my way to Fairy Tail when I heard a guy yelling. I looked over to see a man picking on a young child with a white exceed in her arms looking as if the cat was hurt.
*Wendy's POV*
I was looking around the port city of Hargeon in wonder. It was very different from the suburban style of Cait Shelter.
"Look Carla. There's so many people here!" I said to my companion.
My exceed, Carla, sighed but smiled, "Yes child. I see that. Calm down and remember why we're here."
"I-I know, we're here to get food supplies for the guild. I haven't forgotten." I said.
"Good, do you have enough money to get the items?" Carla asked.
I took out the money and counted, then I sighed, "Only enough to get bread."
Carla sighed herself, "That's enough then. That last job we went on didn't really pay much."
I nodded and put the money back. Thankfully I managed to put it in my pockets before I was rudely bumped into by a man walking by or else I would have been trying to pick up the spilled money.
"Ah! Sorry sir." I said on reflex.
The man sneered at me, "You damn brat! Watch where you're going!"
Carla sneered back, "Why don't you watch where you're going you uneducated fool!"
I looked at her, "Carla, you shouldn't…"
I was cut off by the man hitting Carla in the face. I gently picked her up and looked her over.
"Carla, are you okay?" I asked as I held her close to me.
Carla looked at me in the eyes, "Yes child. I'm fine."
I wasn't convinced in the slightest because of the red mark on her face. I felt a shadow loom over me and saw that the man hadn't left yet and was glaring down at me.
"You gonna apologize or not you stupid brat?!" he yelled.
I knew I should use my magic to defend myself but it felt wrong. I'm a healer not a fighter. I still wanted to protect Carla though so I was at a dilemma, which was solved by a voice interrupting my thoughts.
"Picking on a child? This town has a lot of scumbags in it." the voice was decidedly female and the next thing I knew, the man was laying on the opposite side of the road, sent there by a kick.
I looked up to thank the person that saved Carla and I. The woman seemed to be about 17 with her hair down and had beads and feathers braided into some sections. She was wearing a long sleeve black shirt with a white vest over the top with dark blue pants and a backpack. She had a jacket tied around her waist and was wearing black boots. Her warm brown eyes held disgust at the man.
"What a despicable person." she said, "Picking on a kid who he had bumped into."
I noticed the man getting back up with an angry look on his face.
"Excuse me miss." I said shyly.
The lady looked at me with a warm smile, "yes?" she asked.
I pointed at the man and she looked.
"Huh, you're still here. Didn't expect that." she said.
The man shouted some words that were NOT kid friendly as he charged at the lady. She sighed and side stepped. At the last second she tripped the man.
"Jeez, swearing in front of the kid?" she tutted, "you need to be punished."
She looked at the fluff ball that was next to her and I swore that the fluff ball grew in size as it charged at the man. The man acted as if he was hit by a small metal ball and sent flying away from us.
"Good girl Ossy. Come." the lady said.
The small fluff ball lumbered over to the lady and asked to be picked up. The lady picked it up and began walking away.
"Wait!" I said as I realized I had yet to thank her for helping us.
"Yes?" she said as she turned around.
I bowed politely with Carla copying me, "Um, please let me thank you for helping us."
The blonde just smiled, "There's no need for that little one."
"I'm Wendy Marvell and this is Carla." I said with a grin, "What's your name?"
Her smile softened, "Lucy. Lucy Heartfilia. Now, what were you doing here all alone hmm?"
I told her how I needed to get food for my guild but I didn't have enough for everything. Just bread. At the mention of food though, my stomach rumbled. I blushed as Lucy chuckled.
"My, you must be hungry." she said, "Come along then little one. I'll help you."
I followed her after healing Carla and hesitantly reached for her hand. I grinned when she let me hold her hand and got closer to her. I was happy I did because I would have gotten trampled by a crowd of women stampeding towards the square.
"Kyah! Salamander!" they screamed.
I shook my head to try and get my ears to stop ringing. Ears that stopped ringing when earplugs were put in.
"Better?" Lucy asked.
I nodded as I could still hear things, but the screams were no longer a problem. I held Lucy's hand as we went to go see what all the hype is about and Lucy put me on her shoulders to let me see more. Before I could say anything, someone came charging into the crowd.
"Igneel!" I heard.
Lucy and I turned to see a pink haired boy push past the crowd only to be disappointed.
"Who the hell are you?" he said rudely.
I watched as he got trampled by the ladies. Soon the weird guy got lost and we were free to go find some food. We were stopped by that pink haired guy.
"Can we help you?" Lucy asked coldly.
The man's stomach growled, "Hungry…"
I sweatdropped, "um…do you want to come with us?"
He grinned, "Yes!"
Lucy sighed, "You're paying for your portion Slayer."
We headed for a restaurant with the man trying to question Lucy on how she knew he was a slayer. We sat down to eat and his table manners were horrid, as in nonexistent. Thankfully I was sitting next to Lucy and slowly clearing away my own mound of food.
"So you're Natsu and Happy." Lucy said.
Natsu eyed her suspiciously, "How do you know that?" he asked.
Lucy's eyes were cold, "I'm a mage you know. I know that you're the real Salamander. Why else would you run around a port city shouting the name of a dragon who vanished years ago?"
He shot up in his seat, "Okay talk. Who exactly are you and how do you know about Igneel?"
"Sit down," she growled, "I'm a mage myself. Word gets around about those of us who are really powerful."
He grinned at that, "So I'm really powerful huh?"
"No, you're just famous because you destroy everything every time you do something." Lucy deadpanned.
Natsu ignored that comment, "What magic do the both of you use?"
"I'm a Celestial Mage." Lucy said.
Natsu's eyes widened as he turned to his cat Happy who was trying to get Carla to eat a fish, "Hey Happy, isn't there a rumor that someone had helped some of our members out is a Celestial Mage?"
"Aye!" Happy said.
Natsu turned to me, "So what's your name and what magic do you use?"
"I'm Wendy Marvel and I'm the Sky Dragon Slayer." I said shyly.
"WHAT?! You're a Dragon Slayer?" Natsu yelled, "Did your dragon disappear on July 7, xx77? Do you know where Igneel is?"
"Yes and no." I said quietly.
Lucy put me on her lap and it was cozy. Grandeeny, before she disappeared, had told me that my dragon would lead me to good people and had told me about kin and mating. I was really young but somehow she knew that her time was near and had told me the important things that came with being a dragon slayer. Right now my dragon was currently bellies up and purring while being held by Lucy. We got up and gave an excuse to Natsu. We told the desk that Natsu was paying for all of what he eats while Lucy paid for both of our meals. The servers grinned evilly at the prospect of charging Natsu with more because of the mess they'd have to clean up since he was too busy stuffing his face to pay attention.
Lucy helped me pay for the stuff the guild would need and sent me on my way. My dragon whined at being away from its kin, whom had accepted the bond, but I had to leave. I was late enough as it was.
Every time I was able too, I grabbed a newspaper to see if I could find anything about Lucy and how she was doing.
*Lucy's POV*
After helping Wendy, who was now my baby sister, I grabbed the latest copy of the Sorcerer's Weekly to see what was new. Mira was in it again, my persona as Nightshade was in there as a question of where they went, Natsu destroying yet another town, Erza being Erza, etc.
"There's no doubt about it, Fairy Tail's the best." I said.
Just as I was about to leave for the guild, the guy from before popped out from a bush behind the bench I was sitting at.
"I see," the dude said, "So you want to join Fairy Tail?"
I tilted my head and played a part, "Huh?"
"I've been looking for you." The man continued, "I really wanted to invite a beautiful lady such as yourself to my party."
I walked away, "Get lost weirdo." I said.
"Wait!" the man said as he ran after me, "I can get you into Fairy Tail."
-Something's fishy mom, should I check it out?- I asked.
-Go, you never know what you might find. Also, are we gonna have to do the acting again?-
-Yes. I can't have anyone knowing how close we really are. I don't know what would happen if they did.- I said.
I sighed, "Fine, I'll come."
"Great!" The man grinned, "Just come to my ship this evening and I'll get you into Fairy Tail for sure!"
I sighed as the man flew off on his weird fire. As soon as he was gone, I walked around the town for a little bit. I bought myself a new dressier combo than what I was wearing and headed for the ship. I sent a mental note to Aquarius to be ready. Then at the party, I found out that the dude was going to sell the women to Bosco as slaves and I got ready to fight when Natsu came crashing through. I groaned as the idiot ruined everything and some other bloke decided that it was a good idea to steal my key and throw it overboard. I dove in after it because Natsu was fighting the others. I called out Aquarius.
"What do you got for me kid?" she asked.
"Just blast that back to shore." I said pointing at the ship.
"Damage?"
"Minimal damage to the town and ship. The women need to be safe." I said.
"Alright. I expect a full cuddle session soon. It has been too long since we've had a proper one." she said.
And with that, a large whirlpool formed under the ship swirling it around and around until the churning ended and the ship was rocketted back to shore.
I grinned cheekily, "Did I mention that there is an ally on that ship that's very prone to motion sickness?"
Aquarius chuckled, "That's just cruel Kel. We done here?"
I nodded and closed the gate. I sighed as Natsu took out the man known as Bora and then he dragged me with him. I sent out Lepus to tell the Rune Knights the truth of what happened while Natsu was pulling me towards Magnolia, home of the Fairy Tail guild.
AN: Hope y'all enjoyed this chapter. To all the Natsu fans, this won't paint Natsu in a very nice light. He's going to be portraying the worst of the dragon traits because no one's thought to discipline him. He's found how far he can go with Makarov and has unfortunately taken advantage of the fact that Makarov disregards any complaint cities send to the guild because of Natsu's destructive nature. Lucy picks up on it right away and is smart to word her 'promise' to Natsu so she doesn't end up stuck in a place she doesn't want to be.
At the moment, I have no idea who to pair Lucy with. To make it clear it's NOT Natsu. Any other person is up for grabs except for the slayers. Majority will end up being Kin to Lucy. It's going to either be Mira, Erza, Evergreen or Cana so please vote on who you'd like to see Lucy with of those four. Or any other person that maybe you'd like me to try. I have seen everything up to and finished the Edolas Arc. Anything after that is based off of other fanfics that have gone through the other arcs.
If anyone has a problem with how easy it is for Lucy to gain the First Wizard Saint title, keep in mind Lucy is highly skilled in seeing the minute details and reading a person before strategizing on the fly. Combine that with a Celestial Mage's natural abilities to have a much larger magic capacity than others and her training, Lucy's a very strong mage.
