Chp. 8: Coming New School Year

Mountain Glenn, Vale

Suburbs

August 9, 2020

Time had passed as Teams GRMA and CFDT, along with their families had moved to an American occupied Mountain Glenn with Teams RWBY, JNPR, and CFVY, and Oscar and Ilia helping them move. The parents at first didn't know what to think of this, but then ultimately decided to move to Mountain Glenn. Teams GRMA and CFDT, and their families all moved into homes in the same street and all became neighbors. Everyone had managed to settle with other people that had moved to Mountain Glenn, from Americans to Valeans.

A lot has happened in the past couple months. The CCT towers in the four kingdoms had been upgraded to work with Earth's radio and phone frequencies, airship ports were being converted into international airports in the kingdoms and Menagerie, various nations were beginning construction of Huntsman Academies and Combat Schools, Earth's movies, video games, music, and other forms of media both old and new have been selling in the kingdoms and were incredible hits. But the biggest thing that had happened was the reactions of Remnant's people upon watching RWBY.

The reactions within the kingdoms and Menagerie were mixed. Many were questioned if their own existence was meant to entertain the residence of Earth, and many questioned if Monty Oum was a god who created Remnant. But what caught their attention the most about the show was the long time war between Ozpin and Salem. Most grew worried about Salem getting her hands on the relic in order to summon the Brother Gods back which in turn would wipe out all of humanity, but felt some form of relief when they heard that Salem and her associates have been caught and have been locked up by the United States government.

In response to all of this, Vale, Mistral, and Vacuo all began to make plans to form their own militaries so that they would have at least a fighting chance incase a war broke out with one or more of Earth's nations while finding which of these nations are suitable to be allies to help them out. Atlas meanwhile was beginning to come up with blueprints for their versions of Earth military weaponry and started to mass produce as many Atlesian Knight-200s to increase their numbers and reserves.

Inside the residential home of the Hugo family, Allen and Jacob were both sitting on the couch playing on a Playstation 3 shooting zombies on Call of Duty Black Ops 2, while Ricky sat on a nearby chair watching them play.

"So tomorrow, we all head back to Beacon," Ricky said.

"Yep. But this time, it's gonna be really crowded because a large majority of the new students are from other nations than the four kingdoms," Allen said.

"Not to mention new staff members that will be teaching the students a lot about Earth," Jacob said.

"Yeah, I can't wait," Ricky said.

A knock on the front door was heard, and Ricky got up from his chair and walked towards the door. He opens the door revealing Keaton and Steel who were each holding a box.

"Hello, boys," Steel greeted.

"Hey, guys. What have you guys got there?" Ricky asked.

"Something for you and Jacob," Keaton answered as he and Steel entered inside through the door.

Allen pauses the game as he and Jacob turned to face the two marines. Keaton walks up to Jacob and sets the box in his hands down onto his brother's lap as Steel sets the box in his hands down onto a nearby table. Ricky approaches the box and saw on the lid was the Kingdom of Atlas symbol on it.

"Is this from..." Ricky trails off as Steel then cuts in.

"Yep. You can probably guess what it is."

Ricky lifts the lid open to reveal a robotic left arm. He looked at it wide-eyed as Keaton then cuts in.

"All the way from Atlas. General Ironwood had good old Dr. Polendina work on this for you. He wanted me to tell you that you fought admirably. You should be proud of yourself," he said.

"Tell them I said thanks. I really do appreciate this. I'm gonna go try this on now," Ricky said as he took the arm out of the box and walked out of the living room.

Keaton turns his head to face Jacob.

"This was issued to be made by President Trump and had some top engineers to make this for you," Keaton said.

Jacob opens the box, revealing an AR-15 painted to look like the American flag, and a few clips and several other attachments which included a scope, a attachable flashlight, an optic placement, a red dot sight, and an attachable M-203 grenade launcher. He looks at the weapon with wide eyed excitement.

"This is a Daniel Defense DDM4 V7, an AR-15 style rifle. This bad boy has been modified for you when you're out fighting Grimm and modified for both civilian and military use," Keaton explained.

Jacob set the box next to him and stood up from the couch, while he took the rifle out of the box. He notices a small switch on the rifle and flips it. The gun then shifted and transformed itself into a broadsword with carved out text that read 'In God We Trust,' similar to his last weapon, God's Trust. Jacob gave a couple light test swings. He then looks down at the attachments to his weapon in the box before looking back at Keaton.

"So what about the attachments?" Jacob asked.

"As for the attachments, depending on what you put on will have an effect on your sword. Hand me the sword for a minute and I'll show you," Keaton said.

Jacob passes the sword over to Keaton as he transforms it back to its rifle mode. Keaton grabs a scope from the box and attaches it to the rifle. He transformed the rifle back into its sword form, but now the blade was a foot longer and the handle was a half a foot longer than it originally was.

"It's a longsword now," Allen said.

"Yep. Each attachment to Jacob's AR-15 will have an effect on it when it's in its sword form. The flashlight makes the sword glow to light up dark places. The optic magnifies the effects of whatever Dust you use for attacking enemies in a wide range. Like Weiss' rapier but on a slightly wider range. The red dot sight brings out the gun's barrel while in sword form and can fire semi-automatic rounds while in that form And the grenade launcher is pretty much the same thing as the red dot sight, but fires 40mm high explosive rounds," Keaton explained.

"Nice," Jacob said as he took the sword back from his brother.

"Very nice," a voice cuts in.

Everyone turns to see Ricky now wearing the robotic arm.

"You remind me of the Winter Soldier with that thing on," Steel said.

"How does it feel?" Jacob asked.

"Natural. Feels like my old arm in a way," Ricky answered, looking down at it with admiration.

"By the way Jacob, what are you gonna call that thing?" Allen asked.

"Yeah. After your other weapon got destroyed beyond repair back in Knoxville, you can't call this one God's Trust since it's a different weapon. And you can't call it God's Trust II. It would just feel weird," Ricky said.

Jacob looked down at his sword for a moment before looking back up at everyone.

"How about God's Judgment?" he asked. "I mean, it fits the theme and to me, it's sort of like a little brother to God's Trust."

"That could work I guess," Keaton answered with a shrug.

"Sounds good," Allen said as Ricky nodded.

Connor Residence

Meanwhile inside the Conner household, Britney, Weiss, Blake, and Rebecca were all going over their belongings and what they all needed before going back to Beacon.

"Got pencils, pens, papers, school uniforms ironed, clothes. Just about everything we need," Britney said, going down the list in her hand.

"A lot has happened in the past couple months. Makes you wonder what will happen next," Rebecca said.

"A lot of crazy stuff has happened in the past couple months. Like how this group called PETA was trying to defend the Grimm and stating that they're just poor animals trying to provide for themselves or something like that," Blake said. "What's up with that?"

"It's best to ignore them. PETA is full of brainless jackasses," Britney said.

"After RWBY had been released to the kingdoms, my father's campaign for councilman has been crashing down drastically after the people of Atlas witnessed his actions in the show, showing that he would go to any length to win. He then tried to sue Rooster Teeth, but that didn't go well for him," Weiss said.

"How can you win a case for something they had nothing to do with," Blake asked, rhetorically.

"Yeah, and since then, the people of Atlas and Mantle have been protesting against Jacques and are demanding for his arrest, or at the very least for him to resign in disgrace. And also a majority of his staff, including Klein all resigned. At least I know Klein will be fine since he's becoming a doctor," Weiss said.

"It's not just Atlas that wants Jacques behind bars, but the rest of the world as well. Everyone has the same idea. But unfortunately, due to the rigged elections not happening yet and the events that followed not happened yet, Jacques cannot get arrested unfortunately," Britney said.

"But on the plus side, due to all the pressure from Terrans, Jacques was eventually forced to create better working conditions in the Schnee Dust Company mines... at far as I know that is. Either way, it's still satisfying to watch him squirm," Weiss said.

"Wait. I just realized something. Your mother had cameras installed all over the Schnee Manor and the show was released to the kingdoms. Doesn't that mean that Jacques now knows and would not only take don't the cameras, but also do something to her?" Rebecca asked.

Britney and Blake looked up at Rebecca with wide eyes before the three girls turned to face Weiss who then smiled.

"Don't worry. General Ironwood and Keaton have access to the cameras. And they have been launching investigations on the Schnee Dust Company, so my father will be to occupied on the investigations on him. And if my father does try something on my mom, they'll know and will be ready to slap the cuffs on him and father knows it and thus making him too scared to try anything," Weiss said.

Britney, Rebecca, and Blake all sighed in relief.

"That's a relief. Your mother and brother don't deserve his shit," Rebecca said.

"And then there's the U.S. Presidential Elections," Rebecca said.

"And I'm guessing that many questions are gonna involve Remnant?" Blake asked.

"Yep. And we have candidates like this guy," Britney said as she pulls out her phone from her pocket. "Take a look at the guy on the right."

She plays a video showing two men on two panels as Weiss, Blake, and Rebecca gathered around her and watched the video. On the right panel was an old man with white slicked-back hair. He wore a dark blue dress coat and pants with a cyan dress shirt underneath.

"If you have a problem whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black," the old man said to the man on the left panel.

"Boy, what the fuck does that suppose to mean?! Is he saying that if I vote for Trump, then I'm not black?!" Rebecca asked.

"Who is that man?" Blake asked, narrowing her eyes at the man on Britney's phone.

"That's former Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate, Joe Biden," Britney answered.

"And he really said that? That would not look good for his support," Weiss said.

"And I did find a video on Youtube of Biden saying the N-word... twice," Britney said.

"So he's a racist?" Blake asked.

"He's an idiot. How people want to vote for him, I'll never know," Britney answered.

Knight Residence

Meanwhile inside the Knight family household, Allen, Robert, Jaune, and Ren were getting their belongings ready for tomorrow.

"Our vacation was fun while it lasted," Robert said, stuffing a folded shirt into a duffle bag.

"It was inevitable that we all would go back to Beacon," Ren said.

"At least people can rest a little easier now that Salem and her followers are locked up," Jaune said, zipping up his duffle bag.

"From what I heard, Adam and Tyrian were both given the death penalty while the others that got caught were given a life sentence," Allen said.

"No surprise there. But for Salem however, she wasn't given the death penalty because of her immortality. So the justice system came up with a compromise," Robert said.

"What's the compromise?" Jaune asked.

"They're gonna have the Space Force put Salem into a rocket and launch her into the sun. I heard Elon Musk is helping them out with that too," Robert answered.

"Theoretically if they do that, then she won't be alive, but she won't be dead either. She'd be stuck in purgatory and would be suffering the flames of hell for all eternity," Allen said.

"What about Mercury, Emerald, and Hazel? What's going to happen to them?" Ren asked.

"Yeah, they did help us take down Salem and Cinder after all," Jaune said.

"I don't know. Nothing was said about them yet," Robert answered with a shrug. "If I were to guess they'd probably receive a life sentence."

"Probably," Allen said.

"Welp, tomorrow is a new restart year of Beacon," Jaune said.

"You said it," Allen said.

Author's Note: To those of you that are not aware of what's been happening, Rooster Teeth is under confirmed accusations of racism, transphobia, and overall toxicity of employment. Kdin Jenzen (May Marigold's VA), a former RT employee gave out a statement of the treatment and harassment she and several others had faced throughout their careers from RT. It was all confirmed to be true by Gavin Free, who issued an apology and stated to have been participating in this harsh treatment of employees like Kdin.

Josh Grelle (Tyrian's VA) stated that he will not be reprising his roll as Tyrian due to RT's actions against their employees. And from what I've heard, several other voice actors and actresses, including Arryn Zech and Barbara Dunkelman (Blake and Yang's VA) are thinking about cutting all ties with RT and not be reprising their rolls to voice their characters of RWBY.

It's been controversy after controversy, and scandal after scandal, and this may possibly be the final nail in the coffin for RT since it has now become the next Channel Awesome, but on a much grander scale. As for RWBY, I am unsure of what will happen to the show, All I know is that a lot of CRWBY is turning against RT. I figure that if RT does recover, RWBY will continue but will probably most likely not feel the same as it was. If RT does crash and burn, personally, I have narrowed down two options to what will happen to RWBY:

1)RWBY's naming rights gets sold off to another company.

2)RWBY will get canceled entirely.

And how this will effect RWBY and Earth, I can promise you all that this series will go on, with or without Rooster Teeth. If they can't change their was and mean it and show it, then let them crash and burn. And as for how I feel about this situation, I just want RT to go back to the way it was before. I will not be accepting any apologies from the company or from those that have partaken in the mistreatment of RT employees until they've shown to have actually changed or have been removed from their positions.
