Note from the author: I just want to say "Hi!" to everyone who's been reading and leaving me such kind notes! You're the reason I keep writing. :-) Now I want to apologize for two things! One: In chapter two I misspelled "Malfoy" throughout the chapter. Oops! haha! (Thank you, Bienfoy!) Sorry, but I'm just WAY to lazy to change it. Plus I got nice comments so I'm just going to leave it as is. At least you know who I'm talking about. :-) Second: This chapter is REALLY short! Haha. Honestly, I don't know what's going to happen so it might be awhile till my next update. I just want everything to go along the lines of how I planed it. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the chapter regardless of it's shorty-ness. Love you all lots!! Chapter Three – Conformations

"Good Morning, Raylee." No it sounded to formal for some reason. "Hey! Raylee! What's up?" No, it sounded like I was mocking her.

I had made up my mind that night to fight the system, and something told me Raylee would want to too. But it just felt odd, knowing whom she was, knowing her relationship to my family, to just suddenly be buddy-buddy with her. We needed a talking.

"Raylee, can I talk to you?" Raylee stopped abruptly; her new Slytherin friends kept walking towards the great hall though.

"Now?" She didn't even face me. Her cold voice gave me the same feeling as picking up a phoenix-feathered wand, cold and chilling.

"Well, uh… We could talk after breakfast, if you wanted."

"We have class then."

"Well… Raylee, I want to be your friend, and I don't want something stupid like a different house to set us apart from each other! We have fun together, and you know it. That's all I want to talk to you about, so I-"

Raylee turned quickly and eyed me down. Her face was furious and her sides clamped her hands.

"You don't understand ANYTHING, do you ignorant girl? This isn't about our Houses! This is about our families! There is no way we could be together, not with what history we both have behind us. Take your heads out from the clouds and look around you, Faelyn. This isn't your wonderland."

I never even got a chance to think of a good comeback. She quickly turned in place and marched down the hallway, leaving me struck and dumbfounded. This was going to take more than words.

"Stop stalking me!" I demanded. Faelyn grinned foolishly.

"I'm just going to class. By the way, we're sharing it together." I growled and walked faster, but she kept up.

"If you don't talk about it with me, I won't leave you alone," she said in a mocking sort of singsong voice.

"Don't speak to me in public! People know who we are!" She jogged up next to me and tried to catch my eye, but I looked to the floor and kept my pace.

"Raylee, wasn't it you who said 'Honor is received individually, and not from your home'?"

"Yes, but this is completely different!"

"Not from my point of view. Just answer me something. We have fun together, right?"

"When we were ignorant, yes, but-"

"Then I can see the only problem. The problem is you." I stopped in my tracks Faelyn had to turn around and come back to face me.

"You think I'm the problem?!"

"Yes."

"The problem is you! The problem is your imaginative anything-is-possible mind! You need to come back to earth and face cold hard facts. We can not be friends." Faelyn was quiet but she never looked away from my face. I felt uncomfortable, but I stayed. I wanted to know what she felt.

"Raylee… In order to make impossible things happen, you must first exceed the expectations of yourself. It's not enough to open your eyes. Open your mind, and then tell me what you think." She turned and entered the transfiguration classroom. No words could describe what I felt inside. The fact was, I didn't know. But I think it was that moment that sparked my kindle, and I knew I had to add the wood before I burnt out.
