Heero Yuy walked down a busy colony sidewalk. He had been going to school ever since the Eve War ended and working after his classes as a security guard. He sighed as the image of a honey-blonde haired, green-blue eyed girl flooded into his memory. 'Why can't I forget her?!' He thought as her turned into an alley and walked faster. 'So, someone's following me....' He quickly turned around only to meet the sea-blue eyes he never planed to meet again. "Relena...."
Relena Dearlen Peacecraft had been following Heero around all day, she was glad she had made Duo teach her how to tail someone without being noticed, but she got careless and the thought of him saying her name the way that only he did was what made her careless. Those thoughts were when she slipped up and made the slightest noise as she stepped down with her foot.
"What are you doing here?" Her thoughts where shattered by Heero's voice.
"I...um...I-I wanted to see you, Heero." She mentally smacked herself and tried to compose herself.
"You wanted to see me? Why? Does Zechs know you're here?"
"No, he doesn't and he doesn't own me. I'm 18 now, Heero. I can do what I want...even...." She snapped her mouth shut. 'Did I almost say that?!' she scolded herself.
Heero raised an eyebrow. "Even what?"
"N-Nothing...nothing at all." She hoped that sounded more convincing than she thought it did. Her hopes were smashed when Heero just kept staring at her as if daring her to say what she meant.
"Even what?" Heero repeated himself, this time with more force behind the words.
"E-Even...even l-love...you." Relena stuttered and turned away from Heero to hide her flushed cheeks.
'Love me? She loves me?' Heero thought amazed. He didn't know what to say, he could hardly think. Did he love her too? Is that why he couldn't forget her face? 'Is that why she fills my every thought?' He thought bewildered. Before he knew what he was doing he had his arms warped tightly around Relena as if letting go would kill him. "Kimi o aishiteru [1]...Relena." He said just barley above a whisper and held her tighter. 'I'll never leave you again...never again.'
[1] Kimi o aishiteru is I love you in Japanese, I thought that suited Heero better than anything else. A/N: Heh, sorry for the fluff, couldn't help myself after reading one of my manga. Hope you didn't gag ^_^
