Telescopes
Note:
internal thoughts
Clark was not the only one doing snooping with a telescope. Clark never knew that Lana had a telescope of her own. Dusty and covered in webs, she finally found it hidden away. As a first test she decided to take a look on Clark Kent .She had a feeling he looked at her every once and a while, so she decided it would be fun to have a little revenge. She also felt that if she was to acknowledge her new feelings for him, she ad better get to know him better than simply as her neighbor.
Lets see, there is his house. Uh . . . Aha! The barn and that's Clark . . . omigod!
Lana had just witnessed something that defied everything she knew.
Clark had been up in his loft as usual. However this time he had a steel pipe. Clark held in his hands a solid steel pipe. She watched as he bent the pipe as if it was a toothpick and then bent it back into shape. She watched her shy yet brave neighbor bend a pipe like it was nothing. She then watched him throw the pipe up into the sky. It kept going and going and . . . It seemed like it was not going to come down. She moved the telescope back to him and realized with horror that Clark was look at her house with his telescope. She saw the dawning horror in his face as suddenly he disappeared. She turned around to see a blur appear and suddenly she came face to chest with Clark Kent.
"Did you . . .did you . . .?" He did not complete his sentence because of a shortage of breath, but rather because he was so scared and so ashamed at the same time. She looked into the face of the man who she had begun to feel love for and instead of being afraid, scared or angry (for not telling her sooner) she felt more love. The isolation he must feel . . . he is so alone in the world with no one except his parents. His adoptive parents. Not his real ones. She reached out to touch his cheek and said with all her heart, "Yes Clark I saw you. But even that cannot change what I have felt for so long." The dual identities of Clark Kent was thrown together and bonded by their unanimous love for Lana. In a brief moment he was free of his curse. He looked back at her and wondered if his secret was not as horrible as he thought.
From the look in her eyes, my powers don't matter. Just me.
