A/N: This is a slow chapter, nothing really happens. It just lays out the
feelings that appear in this fic, a sort of prologue. Hope you like!

Black Star Ch. 1
He watched her. He watched her, and she knew it too. He often saw her glancing back, but only for a fleeting second. For that second her eyes would bore into his, filled with. well, he didn't really know. That was one of the reasons why he spent seconds and maybe even minutes staring at her. He wanted to know her. He wanted to know what her eyes were filled with when she looked at him. But he couldn't hold his stare too long. No, someone would get suspicious. He couldn't have that. She wouldn't want that. And neither would those other bloody Gryffindors who kept such a tight hold on her.
This was the first problem for Draco Malfoy, member of the Slytherin house and holder of the worst reputation at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. And really, he wouldn't lie. It was him, who he was, who he was brought up and meant to be. The exact opposite of Ginny Weasley, Gryffindor fourth year and only daughter of the Minister of Magic.
She looked back at him, but she never saw him. She looked back at him with hate and annoyance, an expression that he could distinguish, for everyone looked at him that way. His reputation that was himself had betrayed him once again. In reality, he had never spoken a word to her, and she in turn. She hated him because her brother was Weasley, Potter's best friend and Granger's boyfriend.
Draco had always despised Weasley. He despised him for being loved, and for being wanted. Potter. He despised Potter for being good, and for being just. And he despised Granger for being intelligent, and for being nice. Draco hated nice. To him it was boring, a useless flaw. But to Ginny, it was a wonderful quality. He hated himself for wanting to be accepted by her. By a Weasley, by a Gryffindor.
So he secretly watched her. And she would secretly watch back. A they continued to watch, until he decided to do something about it.
