The Door to my Heart
A/N: I am NOT a poet laureate candidate, as this piece attests. I wrote it about six years ago about my then boyfriend. It was not written as a fan fiction piece, but can be interpreted as one, referring to a certain "redhead-blond" couple from the cartoon series "Scooby Doo."
The door to my heart
Is always open;
Why is yours always closed?
Outside my door, is a mat reading "Welcome Friends,"
Whereas, you have a sign reading,
'Closed. Come back later.'
Each time I come, though,
You are not there.
How can I find happiness
If you won't let me in?
The door to my heart
Is open
And you are always welcome.
Your blond hair,
Soft to the touch
Your gentle blue eyes
The door to my heart
Is always open,
All you have to do is ask,
And I will gladly let you in.
A/N: This is Mlle. Dinkley's first, last and *ONLY* venture into the realm of mushy, sappy, corny poetry. I promise, I will not subject you to my bad poetry again…unless, of course, you ask.
