Always Remembering

I wrote this poem cause of the way that Eddings ends his series, but it goes for almost any book.

Always Remembering

They always go away.

That's always how it ends.

And no matter what I feel,

I go and read it again.

The winning makes me happy,

The losing makes me cry,

And though you always win,

And no one seems to die…

There's always that tinge of sadness,

Whenever I put you down,

Because I know what's going to happen,

If you ever come back around.

But in the end you always leave,

And will you meet again?

All I have is memories,

Of reading how you end.

And the story strikes my fancy,

And the characters capture my heart,

And I'll pick you up tomorrow,

And go back again to the start.

For all I have are memories,

Of your adventures together,

And I'll always hope in the end,

That I always will remember.

A/N: I wrote this because it seems like all of Eddings series end with the characters parting ways.  And as realistic as it is, I always want to cry, because I love the story so much that I don't want to leave the characters behind, not knowing if they ever meet again.
