Note: The characters belong to JKR.which is probably good.I would play with them too much if they were mine and they would never get any sleep..

Insomnia

Sirius paced back and forth through the kitchen of the small house. It was late and he had had a long day. By all accounts he should have been in bed asleep, but when he had tried to sleep, he had found he was suffering a bout of insomnia.

Usually when this happened, he would wake Remus up and they would talk until Sirius dozed off, but tonight that wasn't an option. Remus wasn't home.

His mother's birthday was the next day, and so Remus had returned to his old home to stay for a few days, leaving Sirius alone to deal with this, well, crisis.

With a pathetic whimper, Sirius slumped onto the couch, his face in his hands. "I'm so tired," he whined to the empty room.

Suddenly a thought occurred to him. He would still go see Moony. He would just have to Apparate to do it!

Sirius knew well the way Moony's old room looked, so it would be little to no trouble.

Without thinking of the consequences, he quickly Apparated to that familiar old room.

Remus wasn't in it, but somewhere above him he could hear the shower running. He stopped to think about what an appealing sight a wet Remus was, but he was too physically exhausted for that thought to get anywhere awkward, for which he was grateful.

The room was emptier than it had been before, but then, that was to be expected. Sirius had helped Remus move most of the furniture out of here himself. However, the large and comforting bed was still in place, and Sirius sank gratefully onto it, staring at the ceiling and waiting.

Eventually the water stopped, and a few minutes after that, footsteps moved across the house, finally pausing at the top of the stairs to wrench open the creaky door. The chimes hung on the back of the door clattered against the wood and Sirius sat up.

When he reached the bottom of the stairs, Remus saw Sirius and froze. "What are you doing here?" he asked, amusement in his voice. "Miss me already?"

"Well, yes," Sirius confessed. "But I also have insomnia."

"Indeed?" Remus raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah."

"Hmm." Remus tossed his dirty clothes in the hamper and came over to sit beside Sirius on the bed. "I suppose you want to stay here tonight, don't you?"

This time the reply was more of a whine, "Yeah."

Remus smiled warmly at him. "Okay. You can stay. But I'm too tired to go set up a bed for you on the couch, so you'll have to stay down here with me tonight."

"I don't mind," Sirius shrugged, not looking at him.

Beside him, he could feel Remus settling in to the bed, pulling the covers around himself. "Aren't you going to join me?" Remus asked, startling Sirius out of his weary daze.

"Oh! Yeah." Slowly he crawled under the blankets next to Remus, blinking his eyes blearily. Even just being in Remus' presence made it possible for him to sleep.

Remus propped himself on an elbow and ran one hand through Sirius' hair. "Tired, aren't we?"

Sirius murmured something into the pillow in reply, scooting his body closer to the warmth that Remus offered. However, before he dozed off, he looked up at his friends and smiled. "I'm glad I came here. I.I like sharing a bed with you."

Remus lay down beside him and wrapped an arm around him, wordlessly assuring Sirius that he felt the same way.
