This is just a short piece of fluff, not a fic but more of a poem I have one more Cole one and hopefully some Mel ones eventually as well.

It seems we met so long ago, yet it was like only yesterday

We have formed a wonderful partnership and become so much more than friends

We have learned a lifetime of knowledge and have faced so many challenges together

Yet now we must part ways, my work here is done

But I never expected to find someone that I would come to care for so much

I want you to come with me, but I understand why you cannot

I never thought saying goodbye would bring me such pain

I return to my home, but I think of you constantly

My heart aches for you, and I realize that I am not home without you

You taught me to love again, and brought back light to my life

Without you, my life is an empty black hole, I know that I must go back

Our reunion is a joyous one and I find that you were as lonely as I was

You still have so much to learn, and I find that my work is not done after all

I do not know what the future holds for us, or what challenges lie ahead

But I know that we must be together, no matter what happens

I promise that I will never leave you and that we will always be together

I know that as long as I am with you, I am truly at home and my heart is truly happy
