Lizzie McGuire yawned as she stumbled off the bus. It had been a long weekend of studying for an important science exam, and Lizzie was dreading first period with every ounce of strength she had left in her. Somehow, she managed to remember her locker combination and drag herself to the science room. "Rough weekend, McGuire?" One of her two best friends, David "Gordo" Gordon asked. "You look like you're half asleep." "That's because I am half asleep, Gordo," she curtly replied. "I was up all night studying for this exam. You, on the other hand, probably studied for an hour and will end up with an A compared to my beautiful C. As will Tudgeman. And Kerri." "Kerri and Tudgeman have no lives, Lizzie. I bet they spent all of their weekend studying just like you did." "Sure, Gordo. Whatever. Have you seen Miranda? She's gonna be late." Just as Lizzie finished her sentence the classroom door burst open and in fell Miranda, out of breath and panting, her sentences interrupted by her heavy breathing. "Sorry *gasp* late *gasp* overslept *gasp*" The teacher looked down at Miranda sternly, hidden behind thick glasses. "Very well, sit down, let's not let this happen again though." Miranda could only nod as she slid into place next to Lizzie. *After First Period* "I honestly hope I did good on my essay," Lizzie said. "I think that was the only question I fully understood. What did you guys get for the extra credit? That one was hard; I'm glad it wasn't worth anything." Miranda and Gordo shrugged. It was obvious that neither of them had any remote idea as to what the correct answer was. "It was because the acid changed the enzyme so that it wouldn't react with the maltose." A voice spoke up in the background. Lizzie turned around to find Kerri Stevenson, class geekette, with an eager look on her face, as if she wanted to join the conversation. "Ok. Thanks, Kerri."
