"The Mauder's Last Christmas"

Sirius, James, Lily, and baby Harry sat silently on the red velvet couch in Remus's apartment in Dover as they listed to Peter speak of the war. But to Sirius, the meaning of his friend's word blurred as he thought about this blood bath that was washing over the world. It was never an easy thing to think about, and it surely was impossible to ignore even on Christmas. Never in a million years could he ever have envisioned such a scene of carnage. He had always been forewarned about the few witches and wizard who had a yearning for supremacy, but to picture one as awful and spiteful as Voldemort was utterly impossible. One who killed solely he could, what an awful thing Tom Riddle had become. The idea that someone so influential could ever use their power to do such domineering things were past his mind's eye.

But one mustn't reflect on those things now, he reminded himself; why do I have to be troubled tonight. I have a beautiful baby godson, brilliant friends, food, and a welcoming place to stay. So let tonight be a time of merriment, Sirius thought to himself, and let the abhorrence in the world be forgotten. No one knows what will occur tomorrow, let me for delight in the small time of peace I have now. For I know I will always have love no matter what; some don't even have that. So, let everything else in the world fall through, allow me live, but only for tonight.only for tonight.

A/N: Well, that's it. I do not think I am going to write anymore, this was just something that came to me when I was playing a game. And it actually fits the definition of a short story, 10,000 words or less! Please review!
