CHAPTER 1

Link woke with a start, his nightmare was over, he hoped.

Navi was at his side, breathing ever so softly.

Link glanced 'round him, he was not in his house.

He was living his nightmare, or it wasn't a nightmare at all, it was life.

"Link, we must keep traveling, we must stay on the move." Navi whispered softly.

She fluttered off t'ward the edge of the forest. Sariah's death had startled Link and he wasn't himself. He felt his soul had been taken when Sariah left.

He was so hesitant, so deep in his thoughts. Navi told herself many a time.

"Link, whatever is the matter?" She asked thoughtfully as they strode along.

"I don't know. Too much has happened Navi, to much to bare." He stared into the barren land of dead trees and swamp.

Navi shook her head, this was going to happen sometimes and she needed to get used to it. "I know Link, and at times I feel the same way. Yet, what we are doing right now is what we were meant to do. If we don't do it today we'll have to do it tomorrow, or the next day. This is our destiny, Link, this is our meaning." She grinned gratefully and caught Links tear in her hands.

Link wiped his tears away and clenched his fists. He jerked his sword from its place on his back and nodded, "It's time."

As the two travelers slowly strode on Navi suddenly twitched eagerly. "Link! Do you remember, Sariah mentioned the Rhyshu, you know, the ones I told you about? I remember this one time...oh, never mind, come along, we must get to the temple of time!"

Link was listening intently and he hesitantly leaned back as Navi flew at an impossible speed t'ward the distant hills o' Hyrule field. "Wait!" He called briskly to her, "What are you talking about, what about our journey, we cannot go back in time, who knows what will happen when we are departed from this day?"

"Oh, Link, don't be silly! This will solve the puzzle, this is part of our journey!" She chuckled and kept on racing for the hills.

As they paced on over the hills and through the plains, until they finally reached the broken down drawbridge. "Just another day, just another adventure." Link mumbled sadly as he stood in front of the massive courtyard.

As they walked closer to the drawbridge it grew dark, and 'twas harder to see the things around one. They had been here many a time, yet this time, Link sensed something terribly wrong.

Well, there was always a horrible feeling when you entered, however, this one seemed like, a sign o' danger, a path o' death.

"Navi, this doesn't feel right, it just, it just doesn't." He sighed sorrowfully as he glanced down at the foliage 'neath him.

"Link, if this is our destiny, then we cannot die, nothing can stop us, we are invincible. We cannot die Link, we just can't."

"I'm already dead Navi, I'm already dead."
