Falling Away
I love you. You know I do. But you don't love me. Maybe I'm not as pretty as the other girls. That must be it. I make you laugh. I have a good heart. I would take in anyone who was hurt or sad. Sometimes because you don't love me, I feel sad. I have good friends, but I need you. You make me happy. I am depressed. You don't understand. You never will. But I still care. Maybe I embarrass you? You know why? I think you're cute. I see good in whatever you do. I laugh at what's funny. I stare at you. You may think I'm not normal, but what is normal? OK, I'm weird. Not like other girls. But I like being different. As a matter of fact, I love being different. Almost as much as I love you. The passion inside of me is building up. I can't stand it! Right now I'm alone on a swing. You're at the school dance. I didn't want to go. My best friend Chiharu comes out. She comforts me. I love it when she comforts me. I hear a slow song. I go in with her. I ask you to dance with you. You say no. Inside I cry but outside I pretend its nothing. But it is... It's everything. Only my true friends understand that. I wish you would say yes. I spend the rest of the night at the dance watching you. You dance with that girl, Sakura. People ask me to dance. Almost everyone asks me but you. I say no. I will only say yes to you. But you don't ask. I look up and I see you in the distance. You and Sakura, kissing. My heart shatters. Weren't you my fiancée? What happened? You must not love me, like you said. I find Chiharu. I walk around the school with her. I tell her how I feel and what I saw. She says jokes and makes me laugh. I feel somewhat better. She slept over that night. I am glad. I fall asleep thinking about you. I wake up and turn on the TV.I watch, but I think about you. Why? Not once will you love me. Maybe you love me? Maybe you are just playing with her. And you're too shy to tell me? I hope that's it. I won't give up on you. Remember that. I hope. Actually I know. I can't start falling away. No! I will only fall away with you.
