Do you think I own Lord of the Rings? No? Good guess. The only character I claim is Boromir's girl friend and once you read the story you'll figure out that won't do me much good.

Well, this is my first completed LotR story, I hope it's not too bad!

Eternity

It was on the day of the last snow that news of his death reached me. The city mourned for several days, but none felt the affects as deeply as I. The words of the messenger still ring clear in my thoughts. Boromir is dead. For weeks my mind was in turmoil. All I could think of were the times we spent together. He had always treated me as an equal. While other women cared for their children I was taught to fight. We spent hours in this forest by the river, sometimes we would just talk, sometimes no words were needed. We knew each other well. Once I want into battle with him against Mordor. There were only four survivors, him, his brother, one soldier, and myself. Those were hard times but we were together. Now I am alone. Amidst this sorrow I find little rest. My only dreams are of what it must have been like in his final moments. I was told he died in battle, but no one need have spoken those words. I knew nothing else could take him. It has been almost a year since we said goodbye for the last time . Since he promised he would come home. After a few months people began to think I was recovering, and indeed my mind had cleared. That was when I made a decision. That is why I am here. We spent so much time by this river he loved it here. Was his death like this? Was there more pain? It must have been so. But that was his destiny, this is mine. I am sure my body will never be found. I am now the only one who knows of this place. The pool of red beside me is steadily growing it is the last vivid image I see. Everything is fading into a shadow. My only regret is that I could not die in battle. I do not regret my choice though. As the blackness closes in around me only one thought remains in my mind. "Boromir my love, I am coming to join you in eternity."
