I wrote this before I had finished the game, so I still thought Riku was
evil. ^^; Anyways, it's kinda weird, so I'ma break it down afterwards.
(Translation: first will be the original poem, then the poem with a line-by-
line analysis. ^^)

The evil man and quiet boy conversed upon the hill
The man revealed unto the boy his heart had taken ill
The boy had wept but dried his tears and had something to say
When he realized the man had left and stole his love away
The man and boy both loved a girl and beauty was her name
For when the two were both with her their feelings were the same
The boy then had to fight the man and to regain his trust
And though this all sounds trivial he knew it was a must
The quiet boy had learned to fight to his own great surprise
So he used his newfound skill to aid the man's demise
The boy was shocked when he had stopped and realized what he'd done
For he had now become to know that boy and man were one
The evil man and quiet boy conversed upon the hill
The man revealed unto the boy his heart had taken ill

The evil man and quiet boy conversed upon the hill (Riku and Sora are talking on a hill. Yep.)
The man revealed unto the boy his heart had taken ill (Not literally 'ill'. It's a euphemism for evil here. Evil has entered Riku's heart.)
The boy had wept but dried his tears and had something to say (Sora felt bad for Riku and wanted to help, and. next line ^^;)
When he realized the man had left and stole his love away (Riku had captured Kairi)
The man and boy both loved a girl and beauty was her name (I thought at the time that Riku also loved Kairi.)
For when the two were both with her their feelings were the same (Heh, see above ^)
The boy then had to fight the man and to regain his trust (Sora had to defeat him, yet still considered Riku a friend.)
And though this all sounds trivial he knew it was a must (Filler. Needed something to rhyme with 'trust'.)
The quiet boy had learned to fight to his own great surprise (Sora became much stronger than he himself had expected.)
So he used his newfound skill to aid the man's demise (Basically, he defeats Riku.)
The boy was shocked when he had stopped and realized what he'd done (Sora couldn't believe he'd destroyed his best friend. Uh, I hadn't made it very far in the game yet. ^^;)
For he had now become to know that boy and man were one (Bad sentence structure, but you gotta have that flow. Anyways, referring to the beginning, Sora realizes that by harming his friend, the darkness was now in his own heart.)
The evil man and quiet boy conversed upon the hill
The man revealed unto the boy his heart had taken ill (You can take these last two lines one of two ways: 1. Sora reflecting on what he's done and that the darkness had begun to flood his heart even then, or 2. Sora continues the chain with another unsuspecting child.)
