Just so everyone knows, I don't own anything (except my own
characters(duh!)), although I wouldn't mind owning Orlando Bloom.
Anyway, you get the picture.
This is my first fanfic so please be nice and review.

I woke up with a start, I don't know what it was, I think I must have heard a noise in my room. There it was again, it sounded like a swishing sort of noise, the kind your clothes sometimes make when you're walking. Now I was getting a little freaked out, was someone in my room? Slowly, I rolled over and opened my eyes and tried to scream but no sound came out, there was a lady in my room! I tried to make any noise whatsoever but nothing came out. The lady was amazingly beautiful, emerald green eyes, porcelain skin, red lips and dark hair and she was really tall, easily 6 feet. Then she spoke, her voice sent shivers up my spine, it was beautiful yet terrifying at the same time. "Hush child, don't be afraid, it is time you and I had a talk". I finally managed to talk, "Who the hell are you and what on earth are you doing in my room?!" "Don't you know who I am?", after seeing the confused look on my face she continued, "I am the Mother, a Goddess from the distant land of Tortall, surely you've heard of it", she said smiling. "What, are you crazy or something, Tortall doesn't exist, it's only in a fiction book, you can't be a frickin Goddess!" I said loudly, hoping my mum or dad would wake up and get this crackpot out of here. "But you're wrong, my child, Tortall does exist and I am a Goddess", she replied. "Okay then, prove it", I said smugly. What she did next surprised me, she just disappeared and then reappeared about one meter away. I think my jaw nearly hit the floor. "Is that enough proof for you?" she asked. "Oh my God, you're. you're. you're a Goddess!" I stammered. This was unbelievable! She was real, that must mean Tortall is real and so are Alanna, Kel and Daine! "Don't look so shocked, you've always known that we were real", she said laughing. "But, that was just some silly little dream I had, how can it be real?" "I assure you, we are all very real", she said smiling. "Wow", I said, speechless, "But what do you want with me?" "You are very special and have been chosen to go to Tortall, you must go to learn to harness your gift". "Me, go to Tortall, but I can't, what about my life here? And I don't have the gift, how can I?" "You do have the gift, it's just that you can't use it in this world because magic doesn't exist here. You must go to Tortall or all will be destroyed". "No pressure, huh?" I said sarcastically. What should I do? Stay with my family and friends, miss out on the chance of a lifetime and cause the destruction of a world or go to Tortall and leave everyone and everything I care about? It was a bloody hard decision to make for a 16 year old at 1:00 in the morning. After what seemed like an eternity, I finally made what I hoped was the right decision.
