"She came to me one morning"

"One lonely Sunday morning"

Snape walked down the halls of Hogwarts. The cold of the dungeons surrounding him like an old friend. He made his way though the abandoned halls towards his quarters. Standing there nervously with Dumbledor was a child. By the looks of it she was about fifteen. He thought she looked familiar but he could not place it.

"Her long hair flowing in the mid-winter wind"

"I know not how she found me"

A slight draft blew though the hall and the child's long black hair flowed with it. She turned to face him. Piercing blue eyes followed his every move. Eyes that reminded him so of Melody. Then it hit him as he had finally approached Dumbledor and this child so resembling him. This was his child. The one he had never met, the one that he had no part in her life. But here she was.

"For in darkness I was walking"

His thoughts flew around him as he stared into those ice blue eyes of her. Thoughts of Melody and how anger and ill feelings had broken there friendship. How this one child had ended everything that he loved. This child that so looked like him but had Melody's eyes. Melody had left when she was born. Moved far away never to return. He only had a picture she had sent her 3 years ago. But she had grown so much since then. But why could she be here.

"And destruction lay around me"

She stood there calm and collected much like he did most times as Dumbledor told him why this child was suddenly in his life. Why his daughter was finally going to know who her father was. Melody was dead. Though life had the will to separate them fate had brought father and daughter together.

"From a fight I could not win"

Though he was not ready for fatherhood he was thrown deep into it unprepared. His mind battled his heart. What would he do. He didn't know who this child was. How was he suppose to take care of her. But something caught his eye. The child carried only one thing, a small bag. All that she loved was in that bag. The top bulged and he could see inside it. Right on top was a picture. A picture of Melody and him. One of the times they were truly happy. And next to that was a book. His one and only gift to this child. A book of complex potions. A new resolve filled him and he decided that it was time that he get to know this child that he would be spending so much time with.
