A man went from his country to a new country, and there were other gods worshiped in this land. And they told him to convert, and to worship their own god. And he refused to, and they persecuted him, and threw stones at him and banished him. And through all this he stayed firmly to his own faith, and they to theirs.
And lo, this man went to another country. And the people there worshiped other gods as well. And they did not force him, but spoke to him simply of their gods, and he of his. And they learned from each other, and became neighbors, for they learned they believed in the same commandment, to do unto other as they would do unto you.
Soon, the country of conversion attacked the other two, and tried to force them to convert. But the two kind countries fought back and won, and kept the conversionists in their own place.
Perhaps the man's country was the right religion. Maybe the conversionist's. Maybe the third. We cannot know, for there are so many claims that all we can choose is what we believe in.
This is no parable, but a simple story. Perhaps it will make you think. I hope so.

Do you want not to be cursed?
Do not curse others.
Do you want not to be judged?
Do not judge others.
Do you want to be respected?
Respect others?
Do you want to be persecuted?
Then by all means, persecute others.

Do you want this world to be a better place?

If I can look back,
and know I made one difference
gave one person one smile...
then I have changed the world...
