Hi people, this is just a short humorous piece I wrote a little while ago. I hope you like it, please review at the bottom I would really be happy.

Note: From an unknown barmaid's perspective.

'One Night At The Inn'

One night I was serving at the inn,

It was a busy one, it was!

Save for three I remember none,

But then whoever does?

A halfling, dwarf and elf there sat,

None too sober, no!

A bickering 'mongst themselves,

Named George and Art and Joe.

'Halflings, now, must win,' said George.

'Quick and silent, a halfling can always get in.'

'No,' boomed Art, 'dwarves are the best,

Strong and tough, they never need rest.'

'Of course,' explained Joe, 'you are both mistaken,

Which I guess I must forgive,

Elves are fair, and old, and wise,

Over which no race will ever rise.'

So surprised you might be not,

When I saw right then and there,

Before my very maiden's eyes,

The unfolding of a plot.

'A contest we will have!' said one.

'A way we might decide!'

They agreed to bring back the most wondrous thing,

And then they set a time.

The next night came and then the next,

And still of them I saw no sign,

Until a full week later,

They came marching in at nine.

As soon as they sat, from under his hat,

George pulled from it a ladle.

This he said, when used in bed,

Would always bring soup for the table.

Next Art looked through his heavy pack,

And brought out a shinning light.

'It will shine forever in the darkest of times,

Even in the most deepest of mines.'

Last to compete of course was Joe,

Who showed an arrow made of gold.

'The best of all,' he said, 'is this.

Ever your aim is straight and true, never shall you miss.'

But alas, they started yelling,

Shoving each other about,

The burly human owner came,

And threw each one of them out!

'Now list'n to me,' he said to them,

'Or you will all be dead!

Us men will always be the best,

And that is enough said!'

Lol ok that's enough from me for tonight. Please even just leave one word telling me what you think, thanx for reading!
