Another word for love

Chapter 1 - Introduction

"Damn, Damn, Damn!!!" Garnet cried. "What?" Zidane asked, concerned. "These stupid love poems, and love letters! Now he's got my email address!" Garnet said, pointing at the computer screen. Zidane moved closer and examined the poem. "It's a bit unoriginal, isn't it?" he commented. "That's all you can say! This guys harassing me!" Garnet cried. "Ooh, we can't have that now, can we?" Zidane joked. "It's not funny, you idiot! I'm getting really scared now, like last night when you went out and got drunk, I thought I heard someone moving about in the house!" Garnet said. "Nonsense!" Zidane began, "I did not get drunk!" Garnet picked up her pillow and chucked it at him, he dodged and the pillow hit the ground and exploded into a shower of feathers. "I'm serious!" she said. "So am I!" Zidane grinned. "Fine, if you weren't drunk, why did you fall into my arms when I opened the door?" Garnet asked. Zidane winked and Garnet pulled a face of disgust. "Yuck! That's disgusting! You were so drunk! I could smell it on your breath!" Garnet said. "What are you now a breathometer? Anyway I thought we were talking about you and your secret admirer!" Zidane laughed. "It was you who changed the subject!" Garnet shouted. "Wasn't!" Zidane shouted back and ran out of her room, Garnet closed the dialogue box on her computer down, but another one popped up, it was a new message. Garnet read it and sighed. She had just read the last poem, and now he's ending her another, where did he get this junk from? Roses are Red? Violets are Blue? Ridiculous, what did violets have to do with love? Garnet stood up from her chair and glanced out of her flat window. One good thing about living in California in a flat, you always had a great view, but one bad thing.having Zidane as a flatmate! Everyone thought she was crazy when Zidane asked her and she answered yes, but her and Zidane had been best friends ever since kindergarten, it was only natural, her parents knew Zidane was a good boy, and Garnet treated him as a brother, but her friends didn't like it, they had been pestering Garnet to ask him out, ever since they found out how long they had been friends. But, Garnet had never done it; she knew he would say no, just because he didn't want to lose the friendship they already had. Zidane had been her agony aunt all through her life, whenever Garnet got dumped or hurt, Zidane was always there to make sure she was all right. He had even saved her life once, when they went on a school trip to Spain when they were thirteen, Garnet had gone swimming in the sea, and had gotten her leg caught on some seaweed, Zidane had seen her go underwater and brought her back up.
