Logan and the professor were still deep in conversation. Jean Gray knew. She was listening in, of course. Scott, all the while, was in the lower level of the school, working on the Blackbird.
"Just give me a chance, Logan, and I promise I'll find out what Magneto wants with you."
Jean heard Professor Xavier say through her mind.
Jean stopped listening in as Logan agreed to stay. More Logan would mean more angry Scott. He had promised he wouldn't do anything to Logan, and Scott was a man of his word, but things happen. Jean didn't want to push him.
She decided she would have to talk to Logan. About Rogue. Convince him that Rogue was the one for him, not Jean. But it would take some planning.
