summary-Scene filler. Chloe and Clark talk about families again.
"Clark! I'm glad I found you!" Chloe said as she sat down on the couch in the Torch office.
"Isn't that supposed to be my line?" Clark grinned, looking up from the computer screen.
"And isn't that supposed to be my computer?" Chloe replied readily.
"Good point. What's up?" Clark asked, turning to face her.
"I took your advice." Chloe said, rummaging through her backpack.
"My advice?" Clark repeated, looking confused.
"You told me I should find my own mom. I.I took a step in the right direction last night." Chloe said, opening a brown paper bag.
"Chloe, listen, I didn't mean anything I said then.it was all heat-of-the- moment stuff. I don't want you to get.get hurt or anything." Clark said sincerely, genuinely worried about what lay in store for his friend.
"Clark, I wanted to know what happened to my mom. Why she left.why she hasn't tried to contact me. You just gave me a push in the right direction. Quit taking all the credit."
"Chloe, I." Clark got up and sat next to Chloe, putting his arm around her.
"Well, this is unexpected. What's with the PDA?"
"I.I'm proud of you. You always take the risk, and even when it gets you in trouble.you keep on going." Clark replied, squeezing her a second too long.
"What.what about." Chloe started. "Ok, I'm taking a risk. What's with the mushy talk? Hello, Lana?"
"Chloe, things change." Clark got cut off as the phone on the computer desk rang.
"Clark? What's wrong?" Chloe asked as he put the phone back in its cradle.
"I have to go." Clark said, grabbing his bag.
"Wait!" Chloe said, jumping up and putting her hand lightly on his arm. "I guess some things never change, do they?" Chloe quipped, looking up at Clark.
