It had been four years since Thomas J's death and Vada still hurt. Though, she hadn't thought about it as Much as she did when he had first passed away, she still thought about it often. She had been having dreams of Thomas J. lately, quite confusing, but understandable. The dreams were like a way to connect to Thomas, though that may sound odd, She felt that that was Thomas' way of communicating. Though, at first Vada feared sleep after the first few dreams, bringing up memories of Thomas J. and her, but then realized that she was having the dreams for a reason. To never forget the friendship between her and him, though maybe it was more than friendship. Though, there was definite crushing, she never considered the dreaded word; Love. After thinking on it, she admitted, she was in love. She loved him dearly, he was her best friend and she his.
Thomas J's birthday was coming up, and she decided to visit his tombstone for the occasion, she knew it would be hard to go back, but she was willing, no matter how much pain it caused her, it was for a good cause. Friendship.
-Thomas J's birthday-
Vada walked up and down the rows of forgotten souls, reading the names, until she reached Thomas J. He was so young, she thought to herself as a tear escaped her eye, followed by many others. Thoughts of the past reoccurred in her mind as she walked closer to the grave. Grasping the few flowers she had in her hands, she let go, dropping them on the tombstone. She sat down next to it, laying her head against the tombstone. She began to sob, and then murmured; "Thomas J., why'd you have to leave so soon?." As though she were expecting an answer, she paused, and continued. "I miss you, I wish you were here, still," she cried. "I wish I had treated you better, made you feel as if you were my best friend, because you were, no," She sobbed some more, wiping her eyes. "You are my best friend, always," She decided to get up, before somebody came. There had been a lot of tombstone robbings, and she didn't want to be accused. She stood, looking over the grave, and decided to go home. Wishing that he would appear in her dreams, she then went to bed.
He hadn't been in her dreams ever since. She supposed it was his way of saying 'Goodbye'.
