Disclaimer: this is mostly my story but has some things from 10 things I hate about you init and that doesn't belong to me.

Kat sat at her desk twirling her hair around her finger before class. As the classroom filled up she started looking around to see what people she would have to suffer with this time. It was the first day of school and Kat was dreading it.

She had moved 3 times in 5 months and almost as soon as she started fitting in at any school her family picked up and moved again. Although if you considered Kat and her attitude, she never really actually fit in. The beat- up old I-don't-care-about-social-status car in the parking lot was hers and the deconstructed shirt and pants she was wearing reflected more on her attitude than anything else.

One extra-cute guy plopped down in the seat in front of Kat and dropped his backpack on her toe. "Ow!" said Kat. "Watch out!" The boy paid no attention and just snickered at her pain. Kat placed a well-aimed kick at his feet and turned to look at more people coming in. An extra-tall African-American girl walked in and some white boys with dreadlocks followed. The African- American girl sat down next to Kat, leaned over and whispered "are you new here?" Kat only nodded. "Oh, well just stay away from Kevin." She pointed to the boy in front of Kat who had caused her the pain in her toe. "I will" Kat whispered back.

Kat leaned back as the teacher started to drone. She was about to fall asleep when the teacher looked down at a clipboard and said, "Ms. Stratford, this is not kindergarten naptime." Kat only rolled her eyes because she knew what was coming next. She gathered her stuff and headed to the principal's office. As she walked through the door she noticed that this principal was defiantly not like most others that she had met.

This odd shaped room was filled with pictures of dressed up cats and dogs on the bright pink walls and what can I say, one weird principal sitting at a orange desk. Kat sat down in a surprisingly normal chair across from him and waved her hand. "Hello, anybody home?" The odd man sitting across from her looked up. "Oh hi miss. I'll be right with you"

Please R&R and be nice 'cause I'm not too good at this.
