Right. I don't own these chars. They belong to Joss Whedon and UPN (and or
WB).
This is a short little ditty that I wrote in. math(?) a couple years ago. It's from like. season 4 of Buffy.
I call it Allergies.
"Sadly, I don't think it will go away," the doctor stated. "You have allergies. You're allergic to your dog."
Xander sighed, thankful. 'Good thing I don't have a dog.... Wait a minute....' he thought. "But Doc, I don't have a dog," he stated after a moment.
"Well, are you around dogs? Do any of your friends have dogs?"
"No."
"Neighbors?"
"No. Doc, I'm not around animals. None of my friends have time to take care of pets."
"Interesting... The test showed only an allergy to pet dander, specifically canine..... You're probably allergic to something else in addition to dogs that we haven't tested." The doctor thought for a moment. "Have you had an experience with anything new that corresponds with the appearance of this reaction?"
"Well....." Xander thought for a moment. "I can't think of anything..... except Anya......" He looked at the doctor. "Could I be allergic to my girlfriend?"
"Xander, allergies to other people are HIGHLY uncommon. Maybe the reaction is to a perfume or body wash that she uses."
"She's not going to like this....."
"If you could get some of her perfume and other products she uses, and we could test you with them."
Xander sighed. "Ok, I'll try.."
"We can fit you in tomorrow...." The doctor flipped through his notebook. "... At 4:00. Is that ok?"
"I donno..."
"It's a cancellation. Your won't be able to get in for another two months or so."
"Well, ok...."
"Good. I'll see you tomorrow then." The doctor scribbled something on a piece of paper. "Give this to the receptionist on the way out."
Xander hopped off the table and dragged himself to the front desk. He scratched his irritated back. It itched from the tests.
What's Anya gonna say? Xander thought. He took a long time to wander home. He wanted to postpone the inevitable for as long as possible.
Finally, he tromped into his house, still scratching, and down to his basement hole. He opened the door and started down the stairs. Halfway down he sneezed. And sneezed again.
Looking up, he realized his TV was on. Inquisitively, his eyes panned from the TV to the chair. There sat Spike, brooding. Xander's expression changed to one of anger. "YOU!"
"Bloody, calm down," Spike said and returned his attention back to the TV.
Xander sneezed. He looked up, glaring at the vampire with sudden understanding. He yelled, "IT'S YOU!!"
