Shattered

Author's Note: I was bored. :) Can ya tell?
~ * ~
She never cried in front of me
And I sometimes wondered if the pain
That destroyed her drowned her
In a sea of emotions that were
Never free to fly...
Endlessly, eternally, beauty trapped.
Couldn't he have saved her?
His eyes were her solace,
Ridding her of every needle to pierce her aching heart
In silence, he sang
Songs of love that would last
Till the end of time
I see now that it was only
A single silly love song...
Nothing could save her.
Too many diamonds, an artificial
Radiance that slowly shadowed her own
Under their endless sparkle
They are eternally, flawlessly forever...
Her dreams will die all in good time.
But oh, how she tried to fight against the
Endless sea of sin that wrapped its ghostly arms
Around her frail body and instilled in her an
Understanding that love is just a game
That inside her heart may break...
Yet her smile must stay on.
Faith danced before her, tantalizingly out of
Reach, and yet her fingers flailed desperately for
Endless love
Eternal life, an escape from the fiery
Damnation that her tattered soul must endure
Oh, I wish to save her, and yet...
My own madness has ruined her.
Lacing my fingers around one lifeless hand, I realize
Only I could have stopped this, and that my
Vicious yearning shattered the slightest, sweetest chance of her fairy tale
Ending.
