SILENT HILL 0: The Birth

FADE IN:

EXT. STREET - DAY

People are walking about the large street filled with tall buildings, minding
their own lives.

ONE GIRL is sitting on a bench, talking with A CELL PHONE

GIRL

No way!! You actually saw Silent
Hill? Well, How did it look like?
What? A collapsed highway and an
old, burned down house? You are
not going to believe this Jessica,
but I have this dream...

EXT. FOREST - DAY - DREAM

A long highway in the woods ends abruptly in a deep chasm. An old, burned
down house is standing by the side of the road.

Girl is exploring the scenery. Her voice is heard in A VOICE-OVER. What
she says corresponds to her actions.

GIRL (v.o)
I look down at the end of the highway
chasm, but all I see is just white fog.
I then walk towards the old house. I am
just about to enter inside, when I feel
deep sadness and sorrow. Then the feeling
turns into pure terror. I turn around
and walk away, but then...

A LOUD SCREAM is heard. Shocked, Girl turns around to find that the
house is not burned down anymore. It is still old but looks very taken care of
and lived in. Girl looks up at the attic window to find...

...AN OLDER WOMAN in a white shawl, hitting A YOUNG GIRL in a
white dress, bearly out of her teens, with a SMALL MACHETE. Then, the
house BURSTS into FLAMES.

CUT TO:

INT. SCHOOL - HALLWAY - DAY

SUPERIMPOSE MIDWICH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. 10 YEARS
EARLIER...

A WOMAN in her THIRTIES is walking down a typical elementary school
hallway. She is MARY STEVENS.

Mary enters the door with the sign PRINCIPAL on it.

INT. SCHOOL - PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE - DAY

A NICE LOOKING WOMAN in her FIFTIES stands up to great Mary into
the medium sized, white room.

PRINCIPAL
Miss Stevens?

MARY
Yes, I believe you were
expecting me.

PRINCIPAL
Sit down.

They both sit down in comfortable, brown chairs.

MARY
So, did you find the file on
Alessa Gillespie?

PRINCIPAL
Why, yes.

Principal take out A MANILA FOLDER, filled with papers from under the
desk. She gives it to Mary.

MARY
Thank you. You don't know
how much this means to me.

PRINCIPAL
Alessa was such a pretty
girl. Straight "A" student
in the matter of fact. She
was a little strange however,
but with that mother of hers,
it was no surprise. Oh, that
poor child...
(sighs)
Why do you need Alessa's file?

MARY
Well, you see, we are
doing the eleventh anniversary of
the great fire. At the ÒSilent Hill Post.Ó

PRINCIPAL
Oh, I remember that day. Alessa,
her mother, and a few other people
were the only survivors. The rest
died in that area. Over two hundred
people. Do you know that they still
did not find out why it happened?

MARY
What happened to Alessa after
the fire?

PRINCIPAL
Her mother, Dahlia, took her
out of the school just when she
started second grade, two days
after the fire. That is where
our contact with Alessa got
lost.

MARY
Thank you so much for your
help.
Mary stands up to leave.

PRINCIPAL (to no one in particular)
You know, fifty of the casualties
belonged to this school. They
were on field trip at the Lake-Side
Amusement Park, Alessa missed school
that day. She kept telling everyone
not to go. She said that something
very bad will happen. She was crying
and begged the teacher in charge of
the trip not to go, but she didn't
listen. The rest is history.

CHILDREN'S SCREAMS and FIRE CACKLING fade in from the distance.
Mary looks at the principal and leaves.
