"No", he cried softly. He got out of bed and hurried into the bathroom. It had haunted him, these dreams and this woman. Who was she, he often asked himself. He often found himself waking up in the middle of the night sweaty from that same dream and that same woman. He opened the bathroom door to take a peak at his wife. She was sound asleep. He never tell her about these dreams. There was no way of telling the woman you love that you're having dreams about another woman that he didn't even know.
He had been having these dreams for years now. Ever since the accident. At the time he thought it was just because of the accident. But now he's beginning to think there's more to this dream and this woman.
He wet his face and quietly stepped into the living room. He walked over to the terrace and gazed at the beautiful city lights. He often found him doing this because he felt lost and lonely.
He thought back to how his life in Los Angeles was like. For the last 15 years, he was happy. There were times of emptiness but he brushed it off as his accident still scaring him little. He had a great job as a detective for the LAPD. Then there was his beautiful wife.
He loved his wife, he really did but there was a part of him that couldn't connect with her. He was grateful to her though. It was 15 years ago that he woke up in a hospital bed. She was there for him after the fire. At the time he was too confused to know who she was but he did fall in love with her. They have been married for 10 years. After 5 years of marriage they welcomed their son Edward to the world. He loved him so much. But no matter how much love he had for his son or how much love he got from his wife, he always felt as if something was missing.
"Honey," she called. "What are you doing up?"
"I couldn't sleep. I didn't mean to wake you," he responded
She wrapped her silky arms around his tight waist. "You didn't" she said and gave him a passionate kiss. "You know sweetie, I think I know what I can do to fix your insomnia." she said devilishly.
He smiled at how charming his wife can be at times.
For a moment, she was distracted and walked passed her husband. "Wow, would you look at those city lights, they're gorgeous" she said
"Not as beautiful as you"
"Aww, I love you so much Rafe Kovich," she replied and once again wrapped her arms around him.
"I love you too Livvie Kovich"
