Author's note: 'kay. I'm trying something new here. I'm doing Harry,
Lily/James. now I want to take a jab at Hermione /Draco. this is just a
short story I started writing recently. if you guys like this story (so
you'd all better review!) then I'll turn this into an actual story. so
this'll be just one chapter. Anything else for me to say??? I can't think
of anything else. so enjoy! Oh. setting is probably before and during fifth
year. Okay then!

Draco and Hermione: Not Just a Passing Thought
Hermione had returned from visiting Viktor Krum in Bulgaria a week ago and was not happy at all. Sitting on a porch swing with a book on her deck on August 20, she reflected on some of the last things Krum had told her. the four years' age difference between them wasn't right, he planned to continue playing Quidditch for Bulgaria and would constantly be traveling, so he couldn't remain devoted to her anymore. Hermione had been so sure that he was lying, but after going through it all little by little, she realized that it is was the real thing. Now Hermione felt lonely. She could always write to Harry, Ron or Ginny, but her heart was so heavy that she didn't. She tried reading
Tuck Everlasting, however, she couldn't focus. She took some Floo Powder to go to Diagon Alley. That would make her feel better.
As soon as she entered Diagon Alley, she bumped into somebody she didn't really want to see: Draco Malfoy. She glared at him. "Malfoy." Draco sneered. "Granger." Then he continued on to his destination. Hermione brushed her cloak and went on to Fortescue's. She ordered her sundae and sat at a table to start eating. The ice cream made her shiver, and she didn't mind it at all; winter was her favorite season. She did like the other three seasons, but there was something about winter just simply beautiful. Probably the pleasure of the silence and rare ferocity, light pale colors. "Wait. that sounds like Malfoy. Maybe he isn't so bad," she thought to herself as a lightbulb went on in her head.
Draco enjoyed himself thoroughly at Quality Quidditch Supplies after having bumped into Hermione. His sixteenth birthday was a week's time and if anyone started asking him what he wanted as a present, he already wrote up a wishlist. He went straight home afterwards and into his bedroom to add new items onto the wishlist. As soon as he got there, he took off his cloak to put it away in his closet. Putting it away, however, he found dust and hairs on it. Draco brushed off the dust but held onto the curly brown hair strands. The shade of brown was a pretty and intriguing one. He brushed against people many times that day; the hair could belong to anybody. He put the hair strands up to the light. Then he realized to whom the hair strands belonged. "Hermione Granger???? Oh god." he said, sitting on his bed. From that moment on, there remained a spark between the two whenever they saw each other for the rest of the summer, but it wasn't until sixth year that something REALLY happened!
- okay. that's the end of the short story. Sorry it kind of ended there. if you liked this and would like this extended into a chapter version, review and let me know!!! Thanks!
