Live hard, Die Young and Remember Me

Walk along the path never look back to see the darkness following./Never look up unless you want starlight in your eyes./Jump, Fly and Die./Come to the edge and leap in faith./
I better learn to fly, I guess I'm never gonna die.-Zane.

Odyssey threw back the covers as her sisters moaning pulled her from sleep. Grabbing her glasses she opened her door and crossed the narrow hall. Her sister's door was half open and night shadows dominated. They fled as she clicked on the light. Her sister was curled up and moaning on her side. Her hands clutched at the sheets like a small child who was scared of the dark.

"Majestic?"

There was no response from the form on the bed. Approaching took courage even though it was her sister. Odyssey still remembered what had happened that first night a little over two years ago. She knelt beside her sister and followed the frozen gaze. Her dark brown eyes were glued to the photo of the former rock star Zane. Odyssey shivered and put the picture face down on the table top. She sat on the bed and pulled the blankets up to her sister's chin.

"Don't worry about it honey, I'll find something to make it go away." She promised and stood up. Her sister's ice cold hand grabbed her wrist. Odyssey caught the reflex to flinch at the last second. " Hey there." She whispered and sat back down.

"I can still hear his music in my head." Majestic whimpered. " I can feel his teeth on my neck."

Odyssey grit her own teeth and put a gentle hand to her sisters cheek. " Rest now, tomorrow will be better."

Majestic's grip was painful. " You've been saying that for two years Odyssey. What if this is as good as it gets?"

"It's not." She promised and kept herself from panicking. " I promise you it's not." Gently removing her hand she stood up. "Now please, get some rest and I'll see you tomorrow."

It took effort not to run from the room and hide in her own. Leaning against the door she let her tears out and crumbled to the floor. Two years and she was still no closer to answers then before. It was like Zane had disappeared and taken all the answers with him. Leaving her sister and countless others with out any hope.

"No, I can't give up."

Odyssey shook her head as she stood up and walked to her dresser. Pulling open the first door she took out the scrap book and flipped it open. Death of Rock Legend glared up at her in dark black letters. It had been run by the San Francisco Times and this had been the last city he had been in. Days before his death, Zane had played at a club called the Haven. There had to be answers there, something or someone who would be able to explain things. There just had to be.
