*EXCERPT*
This is an excerpt from a to-be-written Star Fox fanfic. Five teenagers have been blasted into the video game, with no recollection of how they got there, or what to do next. Only one of them actually owns the game and knows her stuff, but realizes she cant be in two places at once when her "team" gets split up and sent to different planets. Only through faith in each other and a strange twst of events will they get out of this one alive.
In this short scene, the story's two main players, ALYSSA and JUSTIN are having an emotionl discussion over the event of their discovery on Corneria.
*SCENE I*
Int-night-The Great Fox meeting room
ALYSSA is slumped in her chair and leaning against the massive table. A soundless video of their arrival plays on the wall accross from her. She watches with great interest, but a woeful expression creeps on to her face. She sighs and puts her head in her hands. Behind her, the door slides open, and JUSTIN walks in.
JUSTIN
What are you doing in here?
ALYSSA
[sighs] Looking for a way to explain all this. [looks up and gestures to the screen]
JUSTIN
[walks over to watch the screen with her]
ALYSSA
You know, it really is weird when you think about it.
JUSTIN
You dont have to think about it.
ALYSSA
One second, we're all at Sam's party, and the next, we're... [in disbelief] inside a videogame...
JUSTIN
I got it, maybe we're all drunk. We were at a party.
ALYSSA
[faint smile] We couldn't all be drunk...
JUSTIN
I know... [looks dissapointed]
ALYSSA
[pause] I can't get over it. We're IN Star Fox! Stuff like this just doesn't happen every day. If we could figure out how we got here an how to get back, think of all the technological advances we'd make! People could go anywhere they want. Its's amazing... I mean, this is the stuff Mary Sue's dream about.
JUSTIN
[chuckles, puts hands on ALYSSA's shoulders] Slippy says there's a strict order on The Great Fox. Everyone goes to bed right around now. Let's go before we get packed onto the next barge out of here. You can try again tomorrow.
ALYSSA and JUSTIN watch the video of their finding one last time.
ALYSSA
Is all just layed out right in front of us.
JUSTIN ushers her out of her seat and they walk silently out of the room together, the door sliding shut behind them. The camera pans around to see the video, still playing, and closes in on it. It gets closer and closer to the screen, and one of our heros steps aside, just as he had. But this time, revealing another figure that no one had noticed before. The form scurries our of view and behind a wall. The screen blinks off.
