My name is Hallie Potter and I am 11yrs old life was just how you would
expect it to be it was the summer holidays well.. Near the end of the
holidays with just 1 week left until I start my new high school. I live
with my Aunt Patricia and Uncle Bernie and also my delightful cousin Polly
who is the same age as me, you wouldn't think so everyone in the family
always says that Polly looks far older than me but I know that it's only
because she's fat and acts all mature in front of the adults. Little do
they know that she is a horrible spoilt little brat who thinks that making
my life a misery and pushing me down the stairs is hilariously funny, (I
just laugh at her in my head thinking oh my god!! What a big fat brat)
It was Wednesday morning and I woke early, I went straight into the kitchen and started making breakfast for everyone I knew that they would be up in another hour. I was just sat down having a Cadburys hot chocolate when I heard the letter box go, Uncle Bernie likes to see a cup of tea on the table with his post so I went to the door an had a quick scan through the post and noticed an unusual letter with a big stamp on the back saying "Hogwarts school of witch craft and wizardry" I noticed that it was addressed to me. I put the bacon in the frying pan and the sausages, and sat down and started to open my letter it read:
Dear miss Potter, We are pleased to inform you that you have a place at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment. Term begins on 1 September. We await your owl by no later than 31 July.

As soon I read this, a blinding flash of what looked like electric blue light flashed in my eyes. When the light stopped everything went black and I think I was stood in a room with no windows until I heard a voice "Who's that?" said the voice nervously I didn't know what to do I said "It's Hallie who's that??" the voice replied, "It's Sandy, how did you get here?" I realised that it was the voice of my best friend Sandy, I was so relieved that it was her, I replied "What you doing here?!" "I was reading a letter I got sent this morning and suddenly there was a flash of light and I appeared here I can't see you where are you?" said Sandy "I'm here!" and I grabbed her arm. as soon as I grabbed her arm a very dim light bulb flickered on, there appeared to be no windows which made it harder to see, Sandy whispered "Who was that" in my ear, I just froze as I realised there was what seemed to be a big black shadow coming closer towards us, I felt Sandy grab my arm very tightly, we both tensed, our hearts beating very, very fast........
