Disclaimer: I own this poem, but not "Moulin Rouge!" or it's characters, or anything else. But I wonder about that, how can anyone own something as WONDERFUL as "Moulin Rouge!"? Well, they can't. Legally, yes, but no more than that.

Promise

He was lost in a dream,

He was happy in his heart,

He had peace of mind,

He was out of the dark,

Her smile lit up his soul,

Her touch made him smile,

Her voice was his treasure,

She made life worthwhile,

She may not know it, but she enchanted his life,

She may not know it, but she cut him like a knife,

When she left and awoke he was left,

Out of his dream, sorrow in his heart he felt,

Out of his mind, almost is he,

Lost in the dark without she,

He holds onto sanity only by this,

To live, that was what she made him promise.

NOTE: I know she did not make him promise that PERSAY, but you get what I mean, right?
