When I look outside at night, I can never spot the rain at first. The
lights are too bright. Also a thick blanket of darkness hides them. Rubbing
my eyes and going closer to the window it does no good.
A weak smile blooms on my face as I find microscopic arrows plunging
through the neon lights of the busy city. The droplets appear from one end
and quickly disappear into the other. Two weeks ago, it was raining. That
is when Lantis and me had our last conversation.
".... Cephiro is in danger. " " Lantis.. I've been commanded to lead the NSX to take over Cephiro for a new power source" " You will not succeed. I will abolish the pillar system"
He then looked at me like he knew the future and what would come of it. I guess we ended our relationship in a mature way. Those kinds of endings are unfortunately, so forever. I will admit, though, we are now too different to be friends. But it wasn't always like that. We were friends, almost lovers. I could tell him how I'd save Autozam single-handed and he tells me the flaws and corrects them. Aren't we those raindrops that fall without direction? Standing on a dark cloud. Falling freely to the ground disgusted by our past? Aren't we those raindrops? And now the rain has stopped but mine are suspended in time. Lantis.... I shall not regret my decision. I shall conquer Cephiro despite our friendship and use its pillar system to save Autozam!
