It was a boring day in a boring village. The boring sun was boredly shining, and the birds were too bored to fly. Kagome and Sango were happily bathing, and Miroku was being a spy. So that left the bored little kitsune and the equally as bored dog-demon to get rid of their boredness alone. Oh goody!
Shippou sat, a bored look set on his bored face, imitating the bored dog-demon's who sat across from him.
"Will you stop that?"
"Will you stop that?" Shippou repeated with mock annoyance. The dog-demon growled. Shippou growled.
Inuyasha cocked his head to the side and stuck his head out. "Nyah!"
"Nyah!"
"Shippou…"
"Shippou…"
"Stop that!"
"Stop that!"
Inuyasha snickered. Somewhere he could hear Shippou snickering too, but he was too far off in La La Land to pay attention. He could make this work to his advantage, couldn't he?
"I'm Shippou and I like to chase butterflies." Inuyasha waved his hand in a frilly manner. Shippou's nose flared, but he repeated it.
Inuyasha smiled inwardly and made his voice higher. "I think Inuyasha is the strongest demon in the whole world!"
Inuyasha winced, "I think Inuyasha is the strongest demon I've ever met." he said quickly in a monotone voice.
"And…"
"And…"
Inuyasha was silent for a while thinking about what he could, and would, make the kitsune say. Finally, an evil grin spread across his face, the fire giving it an eerie glow. Shippou cringed, but copied his face.
"Kagome's hair looks like someone ran a dead fish through it, and smells the same way!" he sat back gleefully.
And it was at that moment that Kagome let her presence be known. "Smells like a dead fish, does it?" she said though clenched teeth. Inuyasha gulped. 'Please don't let her say it…' he begged.
"SIT!"
*SPLAT*
"Dammit…"
"SIT! SIT! SIT! SIT! SIT!" And Inuyasha ate dirt.
