This songfic takes place from the last scene of Escaflowne the Movie.
Hitomi can see Van's wings like an angel. The elegant white wings mesmerized her.
"Wait, will we ever see each other?" Asked Hitomi.
"Maybe so but you live in another world." Answered Van.
"I hope we will."
"Fate can either make our paths cross or not."
With one spread of his wings, he was already gone. Hitomi felt like crying since this would be the last time she would see him. "Forever?" Hitomi wondered.
It was sunset, music starts
Namida ga ato kara afuredashite"Fate? How can that be an answer?" Hitomi questions as she takes her last walk in Gaea.
Saigo no egao ga nijin de mienaino
Hitomi takes out her pendant and holds it tight to her heart. Awhite light appears from above.
Ikanaide ikanaide koko ni ite
Sora e hikari kakenuketa yuku
The light takes her back to earth. She was in a trance during her flight, remembering everything from Gaea and from Van.
Konna ni chiisa na watashi dakedo
She lands on her school's field like before she left. She looks up to the moon and towards Gaea.
Anata wo dare yori sei ippai aishita
Arigatou ikutsumono taisetsu na kimochi
Realizing being on earth again, Hitomi goes home holding the pendant. "How come I miss him so fast more than my bf?"
Te watashitekure da yo ne
"Guess I'll just have to move on."
Sonna toki zutto, atashi wa kiekaketa
Hikouki kunno wo miteita
Back on Gaea, Van still wonders about Hitomi. "Fate, I really don't know…"

Few years later, Hitomi lives again a normal life.

It was cleaning day for Hitomi. Running through her stuff she finds her pendant.

"Van…"

"I'm still not over you Hitomi…"

"I'll read some tarot now." Hitomi finds in her reading that she will meet someone…from her past.

"Why is my pendant glowing? Van…" Something, some premonition flashes through her head. "What's this? A feather?"

By some unknown force, Hitomi runs outside her house hoping that she would see Van. But, he was nowhere in sight. However, a white feather fell from the sky.
Kibou to yume no subete wo kakete

Determined that the feather was from Van, Hitomi runs and looks for him.
Ano hi mo hageshisa wo daite
Ashita saku mirai wo ikiru
"Where are you?!" Hitomi screams inside the park.
Music fades away
Failing to find him, Hitomi sits down and looks at the feathers and her pendant. Finally she looks up and sees Van. "Van." Hitomi shocked to see him doesn't move from her seat.
"Hitomi, fate crossed our paths together." Van saying this while walking towards her. He was wearing a white shirt and pants (normal clothes).
"How did you get here?" Hitomi asked.
"I don't know. I guess fate."
Both of them were finally getting relaxed and began to talk about their lives after Gaea.
