Bittersweet
by SnapCrackle Pop34

Tears trickle down my face,
the love of my life is gone.
My throbbing heart picks up its pace,
as sweat forms on my palms.
Her face was glowing with peace,
but she wasn't alone.
I wanted to yell but then he,
sliced through her skin and bone.
She never said she loved me,
but I knew the connection was there.
Our romance was bittersweet,
and it's that fact I cannot bear.
I remember her every feature,
from her straight brown mane to her fair toes.
Everywhere I look I see her,
radiant emerald eyes all aglow.
Her grace is gone and I,
feel like I cannot stay strong.
The man I've come to be has died,
for fate has done me wrong.
