"Merlin!" Ron exclaimed, storming into the boys' dormitory. "Avoid the common room, Harry, you're likely to be sick."
Harry chuckled slightly. He put his book down in order to concentrate on Ron's crisis. "Ron, Viktor won't be here much longer. He and Hermione just want to make the most of their time together."
With far more drama than the situation called for, Ron threw his arms up. "Have you SEEN them? They're practically occupying the same space! I'm frankly surprised neither has suffocated, as they haven't broke apart for air in ages. It's all limbs and snogging noises, watching them. It's like... octopuses cannibalizing each other."
He'd been complaining about Krum and Hermione since he'd seen them at the Yule Ball. Non-stop. Every glance exchanged between the two, even when asking to pass a biscuit at dinner, would set Ron off. Harry'd had enough.
"Look, Ron." He turned to face his friend, his tone serious and low. "You're jealous, I realize - "
"I'm not!" Ron protested.
"Ron!" Harry laid a hand on his shoulder, quieting him. "You are jealous. But I'm starting to wonder, and don't take this the wrong way... Who are you jealous of?"
Ron blushed. "I don't like Hermione like that," he blurted out.
"That's exactly what I'm getting at," smirked Harry.
Ron was fidgetting. He couldn't think of an appropriate response, and wasn't sure whether Harry was serious or winding him up.
"Maybe you're right," he finally muttered, punctuating it with a shrug.
Harry grasped Ron's shoulder and gave it a reassuring squeeze. "I won't mention it again," he said softly.
