A/N I am trying a different approach so bear with me p s this is also a love story my first one

As the USS Enterprise travels through space at warp 7 To a conference regarding the borg threat Captain Jean Luc Picard is still recovering from the borg incident that almost killed him. As he walks onto the bridge he looks at all of his crew and wonders if there is more beyond the captain's chair as he ponders this question he here's a familiar voice close to him he turns his head and sees Commander Riker telling him

Riker: good mourning captain

Picard: yes it is commander

Looking around the bridge from his captain's chair he sees Lt Commander Data at ops station he then asks MR Data

Picard: what is our eta ?

Data: 2 days 3 hours 4 minutes 5...

Picard: thank you MR Data

As picard continues thinking he here's another familiar voice from Lt Worf

Worf: Captain incoming message from starfleetthey wont us to arrive at starbase 36 to pick up Captain Lucinda Eads and take her to the meeting apparently she is an authority on the borg

Picard: MR Data make a coarse correction warp 8

Data: Yes Sir

As the ship heads to starbase 36 The Tacticle and Bridge officers prepare for the conference

Captain Picard heads toward his ready room

Picard sits down and wonders still if there is more to life more than what he has while wondering this commander Riker enters the room

Riker: Captain, we have arrived at starbase 36 Captain Eads will be coming aboard shortly

Picard: thank you commander

As Riker leaves the room Captain Picard Decides to meet the Captain he leaves his ready And heads for Captain Eads Quarters to meet with her

As she walks onto deck 18 her quarter's deck captain picard sees her for the first time as his eyes meet with hers he sees her beauty he thinks for a moment '' is this what I have been waiting for'' and greets her

Picard: hello Captain

Eads: you must be captain picard

Picard: yes I am

Eads: I have read about you are the only person to live and tell about assimulation

Picard: Yes I was very fortunate to

Eads: if you don't mind since we have a few days if I ask you some questions

Picard: That would be fine

Picard walks Captain Eads to her Quarters and as they walk in picard looks around her quarters he then says

Picard: Here we are
Eads: it seems that way
