AN: This is my first fic.. That I put on the net any way.. I wouldn't have put it on but there seems to be a lack of new stories so I hope it isn't too bad and that you will enjoy it. Please review! I need to know what you think about it so I will know if my writing is good enough

Mia stood outside of Michael's door. She stood there for almost 5 minutes and was still not ready to knock on the door.

That morning she woke up from the rings of her cell-phone. She was ready to ignore it but for some reason she answered it. It was her dad and he had some very disturbing news to tell her.

"Hello Mia" My dad's voice came through the phone.

"Hi dad" I said, trying to hide my tiredness. "Did I wake you up?" He asked. "Yeah, but it's okay. I had to wake up any way" Big lie. I have slept for only about 3 hours. "Good. I have something very important to tell you" He sounded worried. "Yes?" I remembered the conversation we had on the phone before I found out I was a princess. Maybe this time Grandmére was really dead. "I'm afraid your Grandmére has died this morning" He said. "What???" I was just joking! There was no way she was dead. "She had a heart attack" He tried to explain. "Oh god. Doe's that mean I will have to move to Genovia earlier than planned?" I know it probably sounded like I didn't care but I did. I loved her, even though she was a pain. I just finished High School and me and dad decided that I would stay in America to go to the University. "Mia, I'm so sorry - " He said but I didn't let him finish. "Well, so am I. I'll talk to you later" I said and hung up without even waiting for a response.

Now she had to find a way to tell Michael about it. And to make things worse she was going to end their relationship. Lately she felt they were drifting apart. They have been together for 4 years now and Mia just felt it wasn't working for them anymore. It started with meeting almost everyday and now they hardly met once a week and when they did meet the got in to fights for the stupidest reasons. It has been over for a long time but they just weren't ready to admit it but it was time. She finally got enough courage to knock on the door. A few moments later the door opened revealing Kara, Michael's roommate. "Hi Kara" I said as I walked into the apartment. "Hi Mia. Michael is in his room" Kara said as she sat back down on the couch and returned to the book she was reading. Mia walked to Michael's room, still thinking about what she should tell him. "Knock, knock" Mia said and put on a forced smile as she entered the room. "Mia" Michael said surprised and stood up, going to kiss her but he didn't when he saw the expression on her face. "What's wrong?" He asked worriedly.

"Grandmére. She passed away this morning. My father said I will have to move to Genovia earlier than we planned" I said and tried to avoid his stare.

"Oh my god" He mumbled. "What about us?" "I. I don't know. But I think this is a sign that it's over. I think it has been over for some time now. It's time for us to go our separate ways" Michael didn't answer. He sat back down on the chair and looked at Mia's direction but not really at her. "I'm sorry" Mia said as she began running out. "Mia" Kara called her as she saw her run but Mia didn't answer. It was all over.
