I love the one I can never have
Disclaimer- I do not own Lily, James, Severus, Remus and/or Sirius. Although I would like to quite a lot. They belong to J.K. Rowling. This takes place in the Marauder's sixth year. Lily and James are just getting together as a couple. Lily and Severus were never actually a couple, although they were close.By the way, I am not exactly sure if I will continue this fic. Depends on how many people enjoy it and if my muse decides to give me more ideas.
Characters- Lily Evans, Severus Snape, Remus Lupin, Sirius Black and maybe later James Potter. Setting- 3rd floor corridor, dinner has just started Rating- PG for language, maybe bumped up in later sections
"Lily, I love you."
"I know you do Severus, but I just don't love you. I love James." Lily replied softly.
"How can you love Potter?" Severus questioned.
"Because we have a lot in common and we are in love-"
"Are you sure you just don't love him because he's popular, rich and Quidditch captain, like the rest of the female population of this school?" Severus said coldly.
"How could you say that? You know I'm not like that."
"Well, it certainly seems like it."
"Severus, why are you so mad about this, we can still be friends."
"Not if you're going to be Potter's new little whore."
"That's not fair!" Lily shouted.
"I'm sorry Lily, but I think this is the end of our friendship."
"I'm sorry to Severus, I thought we could overcome this obstacle." replied Lily, tears threatening to spill over.
With that Lily turned and walked back very slowly to the Gryffindor common room. Before he headed back to the Slytherin dorms, Severus could be heard saying. "I love the one I can never have." He then turned and walked towards the cold, dank dungeons. Only after he left, did Remus Lupin and Sirius Black leave their hiding spot behind the statue of the one-eyed witch.
