The wind swarms around the boy as he tries to attack with his sword, but the monster is just to fast and the boy is using up all of his energy trying to destroy it. While the boy is occupied with the giant flying horse he doesn't hear the voice of a girl calling on the powers of water and ice in order to freeze the horse before it destroys the boy in the flowing green robes. As the girls attack flies she jumps over the small wall separating the two warriors and tries to find out if anything is wrong with the boy.

"Li are you alright?" asks the girl wearing a pink robe, with wings protruding from her back.

"Yeah, I'm fine Kinomoto, but i don't see why you had to interfere I could have taken him on my own." Li said in a harsh tone.

"I thought..." Sakura Kinomoto began.

"Well you thought wrong" Li directs all his anger at his inability to destroy the winged animal, which was frozen in a block of ice in a stance that if it had finished it would have killed him.

Sakura tries to help Li up but he won't accept her help so she moves to stand in front of the captured beast.

"What are we supposed to do with it now?" She asks the boy who stands behind her dusting off his robes.

"Well we could stand here waiting for the beast to thaw..." He said sarcastically. "Or you could get rid of it using the erase card."

"Oh...alright" Sakura takes out her sealing wand " erase card obliterate the winged horse, release and dispel." The erase card flies from the end of the card captor's staff and wipes out the horse.

Once the horse disappears, the erase card returns to its original form and returns to its mistress. She turns toward Syaoran Li and smiles, but the boy only grimaces. 'She isn't experienced enough to be the mistress of the clow cards' he thinks to himself. Sakura notices that Syaoran is bleeding and rushes to his side to take a closer look at it. Syaoran tries to side step her but she catches his wrist, making him making him twist his wound just below his shoulder. His breath comes out with a hiss. "Sorry" Sakura apologizes immediately, "but if you would hold still and let me look at your cut it wouldn't hurt as much." Sakura removes Syaoran's robe so she can take a look at the wound. Underneath his robes Syaoran wears a white chemise, which is covered with a red, almost brown, crust of blood now that he has stopped moving.

Sakura's indrawn breath tells Syaoran that his wound is more than a little scratch. "Li I think you need stitches." Sakura announces after her inspection of the cut. "I think I can see the bone!" She says before releasing his arm from her grasp.

"I don't think it's that bad," announces Syaoran after his inspection, "and you know that because of my magical background I heal faster than most people. All I need is a good night sleep and I'll be fine tomorrow morning at school, you'll see." After that speech Syaoran turns on his heal and starts home.

Sakura heaves a sigh in exasperation as she watches the retreat of her partner. Before he is too far out of earshot Sakura yells after him, "thanks for your help Li I couldn't have gotten rid of the monster without you." The only response that Sakura heard was a grunt. 'He'll come around eventually, he has helped me quite a few times in the last month.' She thinks to herself with a slight smile on her face. She turns around and walks in the opposite direction than the other card captor and headed home.

On a rooftop across town a lone figure can be seen standing, holding a hollow disc above his head. Located on the rim of this disc are fifteen animals, one which is the winged horse the two card captors had just finished destroying. From his view on the rooftop he watches the two card captors separate and lets out a malicious laugh.
