Chapter 1: An unexpected Surprise
You can't say Harry Potter is a normal boy. In fact, the only thing you can say is that Harry is abnormal. Harry Potter is a fifteen-year-old wizard. Harry lay in his dark bedroom, asleep at the moment, but not for long, because in a few minutes his aunt Petunia would yell at him to wake up and cook breakfast. "Get up right this instant, boy!" shrieked Aunt Petunia. Yes, right on schedule, thought Harry, as he grabbed his glasses. Without his glasses, Harry would be bumping into walls because he couldn't see. When he was dressed, he went downstairs for breakfast. "Get over here and turn these eggs!" snapped Aunt Petunia. "Yes, Aunt Petunia," he droned lazily. He was used to being ordered around because he'd grown up doing all the housework. "Get me some coffee, boy!" yelled Uncle Vernon. "Er- Uncle Vernon?" said Harry, "it's right in front of you already!" "Oh," said Uncle Vernon. After breakfast, Harry went back to his room. He opened the door and gasped; there was a cute girl with short brown hair, brown hair, braces, and glasses sitting on his bed! Her name was Sarah, and she was Harry's girlfriend. At the sight of Harry, she jumped up and ran across the room to hug him. "Sarah, what are you doing here?" he asked. "I took the Knight Bus to Magnolia Crescent, then walked here," she replied. Harry now sat down on his bed and sighed with happiness. Sarah walked over and sat down-on Harry's lap, that is! "Harry, I came here because I'm staying at the Leaky Cauldron. I was wondering if you'd like to come back with me and stay there for the rest of vacation," she said. "Oh, I'd love to!" he exclaimed. "Good," she answered. "But we need to leave now or we'll miss the Knight Bus." So Harry, with Sarah's help, packed his trunk and grabbed Hedwig, his owl. Then they went out the front door of the Dursleys' house and down the road to Magnolia Crescent, where a huge purple bus was waiting. They clambered on, Harry with some difficulty because of his large trunk, and were off.
