Fiery Love: A King of Fighters-Golden Axe Romance Crossover
(Kyo Kusanagi x Tyris Flare)
Chapter 1: Mysterious Man
Yurian Turtle Village Outskirts. Late nighttime.
Tyris Flare, a bodacious female Amazonian warrior, was sleeping peacefully in her tent at the little camp she set up by the village's main riverbank. She was alone in this dark, lukewarm summer night. The campfire was extinguished, and she had wrapped herself in her brown cape (which she also used as a makeshift blanket on evening rest times during her quest against Death Adder), clad in her red-and-white chain-mail bikini armor. She had taken off her red boots as to get herself cozy.
It had been a long day as she battled her way through a battalion of Death Adder's soldiers in the area. Heningers, Longmoans, and Zuburoka's had terrorized the village. But, it's all over – All those that were alive were very much thankful to be saved by the trio of warriors.
No elves dared to snicker loudly and playfully, wake her up annoyingly, and troll her on this particular evening. Her companions Ax Battler and Gilius Thunderhead were on a separate mission to investigate the chaos ensuing at the Mainland Coast, which was controlled by Lieutenant Bitter, one of Death Adder's toughest high-ranking officers in the Dark Army.
It was almost midnight, and Tyris was halfway through her sleep. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a giant energy orb filled the night sky, followed by a beam of light, accompanied with a trail of spiraling fire, descended on the land some-odd kilometers from Tyris' camp.
The light from the orb and beam disturbed Tyris' shut eyes, and the loud sound of flame ignition pierced through her eardrums. She quickly awoke and jumped into action. She removed her cape, placed it on the ground by her sandbag pillow, and grabbed her Dragon Sword. She got up to her feet, put on her combat boots, and opened the shutter of her tent to step outside. Alarmed, she rushed towards the site of the spontaneous explosion.
As she neared the site, Tyris slowed down, panting through her breaths as she caught glimpse of the location. There was a crater that made a huge dent on the earth. Thankfully, this phenomenon happened on the outskirts of Turtle Village. Otherwise, the villagers from the distance may have been fearfully awoken.
In the middle of the crater, there was a man kneeling as he groaned in pain from the impact of the descent. His right hand was eased up on his right thigh. His right leg was bent perpendicular to the ground, and his left leg was knelt down on the earth. His left fist had made impact with the ground, flames spouting out of it.
Tyris let out a soft, somewhat frightened gasp as she covered her mouth with her empty hand.
"Is he dead?! If so, how could he still ease himself on the ground?" Clusters of fearful thoughts rushed through her mind as she warily glanced at the seemingly injured young man.
Nonetheless, she slowly walked towards him, slowly approaching him from one side. As she neared him, she bent her legs down a bit and leaned towards him. She pierced the ground in front of her with her sword and stuck a hand out with an outward palm as if to comfort him.
"Excuse me, young man. Are you alright?" She asked in a normal, caring voice.
The man, dressed in a dark blue kimono blouse, black hakama pants, white socks, and traditional pair of brown Setta sandals, slowly turned his head to the side where the soothing voice was, to his right. His top had the outlined emblem of a flaming sun on the back, perfectly symmetrical from side to side. He sported dark brown hair with evenly split bangs and wore a white headband on his forehead, nicely eased up behind his front hair.
"He must be a warrior from another time. Some strange phenomenon transported him back here to the Dark Medieval Period!" Tyris thought as her heart beat a bit faster than normal.
The mysterious young man groaned. Then, he softly but slowly said, "Yes, I'm alright." He suddenly collapsed on the side but was quickly caught by Tyris. She cradled him right after he slightly fainted.
