Alya kissed her mom goodbye as she stood in front of her door. "Well, wish me luck..." She said. Alya was nervous about her first day of her new school, ever since her family moved to Paris. She wasn't too happy that she had to leave behind her old friends, but she also understood that the job opportunity her mom had was important to her and the family. She had just hoped she could make friends just as easily as back in Pierrefonds.
The moment she entered the classroom, she was greeted sweetily by a young woman with ginger hair worn in a bun, pale, light grayish cerulean pants and jacket, opal collared shirt, a white undershirt, and white high heels. Her voice was sweet and she wore a pair of white earrings and a single goldish-white pearled necklace. "You're our new student, right?" Alya nodded her head sheepishly.
"Wonderful!" the woman stuck her hand out for her, "My name is Miss Bustier! I'll be your homeroom teacher for this year! It's very nice to meet you!"
"You too, miss!" Alya shook the woman's hand as she introduced herself.
"Nice to meet you as well, Alya! Why don't you take a seat over there?" Miss Bustier pointed at an empty space on the right in the second row. Alya nodded her head and obediently sat down.
Not even a minute later, a snobbish voice called out to her, "What do you think you're doing?" Alya looked up and found herself being towered by a blonde-haired girl, worn in a high ponytail, who wore a yellow jacket, a white and black striped shirt, and white pants with a golden belt. She noticed that the girl wore sunglasses on top of her head and a gold chain necklace. "Well? Are you going to answer or not?" she demanded.
"Uh, from the looks of it," Alya finally responded, "I'm sitting down in an empty seat."
"Well, that seat is mine! So go! Shoo!"
"Hey! You can't tell me what to do!"
"Uh, do you know who I am?" Scowling, Alya shook her head. The girl cackled and snapped her finger, summoning another girl with short orange hair that wore a purple and blue argyle vest, a white long-sleeved dress shirt under the vest, and a very deep purple bow tied to the collar. She wore glasses and a white headband on top of her head, similarly to how the other girl wore sunglasses.
The orange-haired girl cleared her voice and declared, "This is Chloe Bourgeois! Daughter of the mayor himself!"
Chloe pointed at where Alya was sitting and finished, "And that seat, over there, is mine! If you don't shoo, I'll call my daddy, and I'll make sure he kicks you and your family out of here!"
"I don't believe this!" Alya growled. Not wanting to risk her mom losing her job before her first day, she finally submitted and stormed out of her seat, plopping herself down in another empty seat in the front row on the left of the classroom. To distract herself, she grabbed one of her Majestia comic book and lost herself in it, up until she heard Chloe say, "Marinette Dupain-Cheng!" She looked up and found a girl sitting in the same spot she had previously. She had blue hair worn in pigtails and wore a dark gray blazer with rolled-up sleeves and a white t-shirt with black stitching and a flower design below the collar underneath. Alya watched as Chloe scolded Marinette for the same thing she scolded her for. This time, though, she mentioned a boy named Adrien. She thought she recognized his name, but she couldn't quite place her fingers on it.
Alya had enough. Eventually, she walked back up to the two girls and snarled, "Hey! Who elected you Queen of Seats?"
Chloe turned back to her and snarked, "Oh, look Sabrina! We've got a little do-gooder in our class this year. What are you gonna do, super newbie? Shoot beams at me with your glasses?"
"Wouldn't you like to know?" Alya grabbed Marinette by the hand and instructed her to follow her. Just as she did, Marinette fell down, spilling a bunch of blue macaroons across the floor.
"Sorry, sorry, sorry…" Marinette muttered sadly before sitting beside Alya.
"Has everyone found a seat?" Miss Bustier asked the class.
Ignoring her question, Alya reassured Marinette, "Chilax, girl! No biggie."
"I so wish I could handle Chloe the way you do."
"You mean how Majestia does it." Alya showed Marinette her comic book and explained, "She says all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good people do nothing." She pointed at Chloe as she finished, "Well, that girl over there is evil, and we are the good people. We can't let her get away with it."
"Well, that's easier said than done. She likes to make my life miserable."
"That's because you let her, girl! You just need more confidence!"
Marinette smiled before reaching for the last macaroon in her box. She split the macaroon in half and handed that half to her. "Marinette," she introduced herself.
"Alya," she replied back, grabbing the macaroon and sharing a bonding moment with her new friend.
As she and Marinette prepared to head to the library, they suddenly heard a boy shout, "Kim!" Alya and Marinette looked up to find a chubby guy wearing a black shirt with a large skull plastered in the middle raising his fist at a skinnier guy wearing a red hoodie. Both had black hair with yellow coloring at the tip of their hair.
"Ivan, what is going on?" Miss Bustier questioned.
"It's Kim! I'm so gonna get-!"
"Ivan, go to the principal's office!" Ivan growled and stormed out of the classroom, clutching something in his right fist.
"Huh, wonder what that was about…" Alya thought out loud. She shook her head and immediately shoved a Majestia comic in Marinette's face on their way to the library. The two of them read a copy she brought from home for a while before the ground shook, shaking both her and Marinette out of their seats. Alya picked Marinette up and raced to the TV screen, which broadcasted a large stone being shouting "Kim!" before stomping towards the stadium, where some of the students had gone for P.E. Strangely enough, it had Ivan's voice. Alya was both ecstatic and overwhelmed by all of this. On one hand, she was terrified of this new villain, but on the other, a real life supervillain! She had dreamed of this moment her whole life!
Marinette had said something, but Alya was too excited to pay attention. "It's as if he's been transformed into a real-life supervillain!" she exclaimed excitedly, "GPS, check. Battery, check. I am so outta here!" She raced out of the library to follow the villain.
"Hey! Where are you going?" Marinette asked.
"Where there's a supervillain, there's always a superhero close behind! No way I'm missing this!" She finally reached outside and saw that the villain had advanced further to where she suspected him to go. She continued racing with the villain, finally catching up to him, but not before he jumped inside the stadium. She ran inside the entrance and stayed there while she filmed the stone villain chasing after Kim. Just as he was about to grab him, a metal staff blocked his grab and a young hero with a black leather costume and black cat ears on top of his head jumped down.
"Hey!" the cat hero called out, "It's not very nice to pick on people who are smaller than you."
"I guess you're talking about yourself," the stone villain responded. They both began fighting each other, and the moment the cat hero smacked his staff against the stone villain, the villain grew. "Where are you, partner?" the hero called out desperately. The stone villain grabbed a net and threw it towards him, but it ended up bouncing against the ground and hurling towards Alya.
She could only sit in frozen terror and watched as the net nearly hit her. She ducked and covered her head as she braced for impact, but luckily, the cat hero's staff blocked it and caused it to bounce from the staff and back in the stadium next to Alya. She uncovered herself and finally noticed another hero, who wore a red tight suit with black spots all over it. "What are you waiting for, super red bug? The world is watching you!"
The bug hero finally jumped inside the stadium, wrapping her yo-yo around the stone villain's legs, and spoke, "Animal cruelty? How shameful!" She pulled on the yo-yo, causing the villain to fall over and dropping the cat hero, who tumbled into the net.
"Yes!" she said under her breath and decided to film the two heroes in action. She watched as the cat hero used his power to destroy the net before running to the villain and tapping his foot. The villain kicked the cat hero back to the bug hero, who scolded him for wasting his power. She then used her own power, which summoned a deflated wetsuit red suit with black spots all over it, similar to the bug hero's costume.
Just as she watched the bug hero toss the cat hero towards the villain before letting herself get captured, she immediately heard her command her to turn on the tap. Alya ran to the tap and turned it, which caused the wetsuit to inflate, forcing the stone villain to release the bug hero. She then ran to a purple object and stomped on it, releasing a purple butterfly, which flew away. The stone villain transformed back into Ivan. After the cat hero left, the bug hero talked with Ivan for a bit. She ran up to the both of them and exclaimed, "Uncanny, amazing, spectacular! Are you gonna be protecting Paris from now on? How did you get your powers? Did you get stung by a radioactive ladybug? Oh, I've got a ton of questions to ask you, uh, miss... uhh…"
"Uhh... Ladybug! Call me Ladybug." Ladybug ran and jumped above the stadium shortly after.
"Ladybug... Super awesome!"
Back at her house, the news featured Alya's amateur footage, declaring Ladybug and her partner, Chat Noir, as Paris' new guardians. "Can you believe this?" Alya asked her mom excitedly, "I got footage of real life superheroes!"
"It's…wonderful, Alya," her mom responded sheepishly, "But, you can't put yourself in danger like that! What would've happened if Chat Noir hadn't been there? You could've gotten seriously hurt, or worse!"
"I'm fine, I'm fine! But, do you realize how big of a deal this is? I've dreamt of meeting a real superhero my whole life!"
Her mom chuckled. "I know, dear," she responded, "You always dressed up as your favorite superhero, Majestia, every year for Halloween, after all."
"Man, wouldn't it be so cool if I were a superhero?"
"I'm…not sure I would want that if you're gonna keep getting yourself in danger like you did today."
"Oh, come on mom! I could easily protect myself with superpowers!"
"But, right now, you don't, so I don't need you getting anywhere near a villain ever again. That's Ladybug and Chat Noir's job."
Alya sighed in response. She knew her mom was just trying to protect her, but she didn't think that she realized how much this means to her. She's admired superheroes her whole life! To meet one in real life is a huge deal for her! Her train of thought was immediately interrupted as her mom gasped, "Oh no!"
Bemused, Alya turned back to the news, with Nadjia Chamack now reporting about multiple stone beings across Paris, all resembling the stone villain from earlier today. "Huh? What's going on?" Alya asked, concerned.
"Well, whatever it is, I'm sure Ladybug and Chat Noir will deal with it."
Alya nodded. She was confident that their new heroes will be able to deal with these beings. Alya retreated back to her room and began setting up a new blog called the Ladyblog, where she reuploaded her video of the two heroes. It blew up immediately, gaining tons of views in just minutes. She checked the time and realized she was going to be late for class. She had completely forgotten amidst all this excitement. She quickly kissed her mom goodbye and ran back to school, where she met up with her friend, Marinette. She introduced her new blog by handing Marinette her phone, showing it off. "Ladyblog," Alya started, "bringing you all the latest news about the coolest superhero, Ladybug! How awesome is that?" She took her phone back and continued, "Check out the number of views since I posted the video!"
"But, why do you trust Ladybug so much?" Marinette asked, "All those stone beings…"
"She's gonna handle 'em!"
"But what if she's not really cut out to be a superhero even though everyone thinks she is?"
"What are you talking about, girl?" Suddenly, Alya came to a realization. She couldn't blame Marinette. She knew how scary it could be for some people, so she reassured Marinette not to be. "I've seen her with my own two eyes, girl! Ladybug is a true superheroine! She's going to protect us all! I believe in her."
Just as she went on her way to class, she overheard someone say, "So, you really don't remember?" She turned to the voice and saw a group of students crowding Ivan, who sat on a bench, recounting his time as a villain.
"Oh, I'm sorry… I wasn't myself…" Ivan responded pensively.
Suddenly, Chloe scoffed, "Once a monster, always a monster." Ivan growled before storming past the students and into the locker room.
Alya turned to Chloe and scolded, "How could you say that to Ivan!? You're the real Stoneheart!"
Chole lazily responded, "Ugh, so I'm the one who broke Sabrina's dad's arm, am I? Just because your footage of those lame superheroes was shown on TV, doesn't mean you have to get so high and mighty." She blew bubble gum in front of her face before popping it.
"You little…!" Alya began shaking with rage.
"Look out, she's angry! She's going to split her underwear and turn into a huge muscly monster!" Alya huffed and stormed off, entering the classroom full of rage. She didn't even notice that Marinette hadn't been with her before she cooled off. Once she did, she left the classroom to look for her and found her in the locker room by herself.
"What are you doing here, girl?" Alya asked.
"Oh, I was just, uh, calming Ivan down, that's all!"
"Huh, that's…really nice of you."
"I mean, it's not fair, right? That he has to be harassed for something he didn't ask for?"
"That is correct. Come on. Class is about to start."
The two girls walked out of the locker room and towards the classroom, where Alya vented to Marinette about Chloe. "That girl is the worst!" Alya finished.
"Yeah, she's been like that for as long as I remember…" Marinette responded. As the two of them approached the classroom, Marinette suddenly asked, "Alya, wouldn't you like to be a superhero and go out and fight monsters and villains?"
"Totally!" Alya answered enthusiastically, "I'm not scared of anyone! Why?"
"Oh, no reason." Alya shrugged it off as an icebreaker question. She never realized that Marinette had placed something inside her bag. Just as the two of them entered, they both gasped as they saw a blonde-haired boy placing gum where Marinette sat. "Hey!" Marinette cried, "What are you doing?"
The boy, caught, immediately looked up at her and Alya and stammered, "Uh… I…" Both Chloe and her friend laughed, revealing that this boy was in on their cruel prank.
"Okay, I get it," Marinette responded, "Good job, you three. Very funny."
"No, no, I was trying to take it off!"
"Oh, really?" As Chloe and her friend continued to laugh, Marinette asked, as she placed a tissue on top of the gum, "You're friends with Chloe, right?"
"Why do people keep saying that?" the boy sadly asked before sitting in his seat beside Marinette. Marinette angrily sat down while Alya went on her phone to search up his name. She knew she recognized that name! Adrien Agreste was the famous young model for his father, Gabriel Agreste, who was a famous fashion designer in Paris! Just as Marinette commented on how familiar the boy seemed, Alya showed her a couple of pictures, and Marinette seemed to recognize him as well.
"Daddy's boy, teen supermodel, and Chloé's buddy?" Alya commented, "Ha! Forget it."
"I guess… I mean, he was the one who was putting gum on my seat, right?"
Alya nodded. Marinette deserves someone better than someone like him and Chloe and she knew it. The two of them sat, waiting for class to start. Eventually, Miss Bustier finally began the roll call. "Agreste, Adrien?" Miss Bustier called.
Adrien immediately stood up and raised his hand as he shouted back, "Uh, present!" The whole class giggled, including Alya. Adrien sat back down, a little embarrassed.
"Bourgeois, Chloe?" Miss Bustier called next.
"Present," Chloe responded.
"Bruel, Ivan?"
The ground rumbled before the stone villain burst through the classroom, roaring, "Present!" He scanned the room, calling for Mylene, and eventually grabbed her while the others screamed in terror.
"Let go of me, Ivan!" Mylene pleaded.
"I'm not Ivan, anymore. I'm Stoneheart." Stoneheart replied.
"Why are you doing this?"
"So you and I can be together forever!"
Chloe began crying, "Daddy, the monster is back!" Stoneheart immediately grabbed Chloe before jumping through the wall of the school, carrying the two captives with him.
While all of that was happening, Alya had filmed the whole thing. Once Stoneheart had left, she turned to Marinette and said, "Come on! Let's follow him!"
"Uh… Oh, no. You go," Marinette responded, "I'm finding myself a safe place to hide."
"Girl, you're gonna miss Ladybug in action!"
Marinette grabbed Alya's bag and reasoned, "You and Ladybug will both be better off without me."
Alya shrugged and said, "If you say so." She grabbed her bag, in case her GPS was in there, and ran out of the classroom to follow the villain. As she did though, she tripped and fell on the ground, dropping her bag and the objects inside it. As she hurriedly packed her bag, she noticed a black box with a red symbol on the top. "What the…?" she muttered. She shook her head and stuffed the box back in her bag. She had better things to worry about then some mysterious box. She had a superhero to film! She ran to the alleyway where Chat Noir was fighting the stone beings. This time, she made sure to keep her distance to make sure she wasn't in any danger, like she was last time.
As she filmed Chat Noir, she noticed that Ladybug hadn't shown up yet. "What's she waiting for?" she asked herself. A couple minutes later and still no sign of Ladybug. Alya ended her film, disappointed, and ran into the nearest subway station to review her film. Maybe Ladybug was hidden somewhere and she didn't notice? But no matter how much she looked back, she just couldn't find Ladybug anywhere. "Where is she?" she muttered. She was counting on Ladybug, too. At least she had Chat Noir.
With nothing better to do, Alya dug through her bag and pulled out that mysterious box. "I don't remember owning a black box…" she told herself. She opened it up, to reveal a pair of red earrings with five black spots. Shortly after, a large ball of red light escaped from the box and began swirling around her. She whimpered and covered her eyes, asking, "What the heck is that thing?" The red ball eventually cleared up, revealing a small, ladybug-like creature. Alya stared at it in awe.
"Please, don't freak out," the creature spoke, "My name is-"
"It can talk too!?" Alya exclaimed.
"Yes, I can talk too."
"No way! What are you?"
"My name is Tikki, and I'm your kwami!"
"My…kwami? What's that?"
"I'm what will give you superpowers."
Alya's eyes lit up. "Superpowers? You don't mean…?"
Tikki nodded her head. "You've been chosen as Paris' new guardian!"
"Wait, but what happened to Ladybug? I thought she was Paris' guardian."
"The previous owner didn't feel ready, so she decided to trust you with the Miraculous instead!"
"Me? But how would she…" Suddenly, she pieced two and two together. Marinette's strange question wasn't so strange after all. Her low confidence in Ladybug wasn't because she was scared.
"I don't believe this…" Alya slowly spoke, "Marinette…was Ladybug?"
Tikki nodded.
"But, why would she feel she wasn't ready?" Alya asked.
"She blames herself for what's happening right now."
"What do you mean?"
"After the Ladybug Miraculous holder deakumatizes someone, they're supposed to capture and purify the akuma, or else the akuma will multiply and affect more than the original victim."
"I see… She didn't capture the akuma, did she?"
"I tried to assure her that it was okay, that she didn't know."
"Well, what does she want me to do with these?"
"Marinette put her trust in you. I believe in you as well! She's told me all about your love for superheroes."
"I do love superheroes. I just can't believe this. I mean, this is everything I've ever wanted!" Alya finally put the earrings on her ears. "Alright, lay it on me, Tikki! What do I need to do?"
"I'm sure you watched Ladybug destroy the akuma already, but afterward, you have to capture it. The Miraculous grants you the power of creation, so your power is called the "Lucky Charm". After you use your power, you'll have five minutes before you transform back. I have to be fed before I can transform you back."
"Got it! Well, let's get going!"
"All you have to say is, 'Tikki, Spots on'!"
Alya nodded before repeating the transformation command. She immediately transformed into a Ladybug themed superhero. "No way!" she squealed as she admired her costume. She wore a traditional tight suit superhero costume themed after a ladybug, in addition to a red black-spotted mask to cover her face. Her hair was held back into a high ponytail and her yo-yo rested in the middle of her waist.
"Get ready, Stoneheart, for…!" She struck a few heroic poses before declaring, "Bugabelle is here!" She then groaned. "No, that's lame…" She immediately heard Chat Noir's cry. Alya peeked from the top of the subway station staircase and saw that Chat Noir had been captured by one of the stone beings, his staff left on the ground. "Shoot! I can worry about my name later!" She jumped up from the stairs and grabbed Chat Noir's staff before chasing after the stone beings. She used her yo-yo to try and catch up with them, but with Alya being a novice, she flew past the majority of them, including the one holding Chat Noir, and tumbled down to the ground. "Jeez, Ladybug made it look so easy…" she muttered as she rubbed her head.
She then heard a roar behind her and found herself surrounded by the stone beings.
"And who are you supposed to be?" Stoneheart growled?
"I am, uh…" Alya answered, still unsure of her name.
"It doesn't matter. Your Miraculous is mine! Stone beings, grab her!" The six stone beings charged toward Alya. She quickly jumped up, and the six of them collided with each other, inadvertently releasing Chat Noir. Alya used her yo-yo to grab Chat Noir and pulled him up to the top of a building. Chat Noir stood up and brushed himself off before turning to Alya and saying, "Hey… You're not the same person I fought Stoneheart with last time, are you?"
"Uh…not exactly?" Alya answered sheepishly. "The previous owner gave up her Miraculous, so her kwami came to me."
"I see… Well, what's your name, new Ladybug?"
"Uh…I'm still working on it…"
"Well, do you have a plan yet?"
"I think so. These stone beings are under Stoneheart's control, right? If we can deakumatize him, we can free the others!"
Chat Noir nodded, and the two of them leaped towards the Eiffel Tower, surrounded by policemen and helicopters. The mayor demanded the release of his daughter and Stoneheart responded by throwing Chloe from the tower. Alya gasped and immediately reacted by throwing herself in front of Chloe and catching her right before she hit the ground. "I didn't promise," Chloe said. Alya just looked at her, bewildered. Chloe climbed out of Alya's arms and ran to hug her father.
"We're clear to attack!" the cop announced.
"Wait, stop!" Alya cried, "Attacking him only makes him stronger!"
"I don't know who you think you are, but you better stay clear and let the pros handle this! The first Ladybug already screwed up. We don't need another one to screw up as well!"
"Hey, that's not fair! The first Ladybug didn't know what she needed to do! It was her first day after all. Were you a pro cop on your first day?"
"Er, well…"
"Exactly. You can't blame her for making a newbie mistake."
"Couldn't have said it any better," Chat Noir praised, resting an arm on her shoulder. Alya smiled at him before they all heard violent coughing coming from Stoneheart. He continued coughing violently until he spat out a large group of purple butterflies. The butterflies eventually came together to form a head.
"People of Paris," the head called, "listen carefully. I am Hawkmoth."
"Hawkmoth?" Alya and Chat Noir repeated.
"Ladybug, Chat Noir, give me the ladybug earrings and the cat ring now. You've done enough damage to these innocent people!"
Alya laughed abruptly and began approaching the Eiffel Tower as she said, "Good one, Hawkmoth. But, we all know who the real villain is! You! If it weren't for you, none of these innocent people would've been transformed! Hear me loud and clear, Hawkmoth. No matter who you are, no matter where you are, and no matter how long it takes, in the end, us heroes will prevail in the end! It will be you who hands over your Miraculous!" Alya cried out as she ran towards the Eiffel Tower. She used her yo-yo as a slingshot to launch herself towards the large butterfly head. She swung her yo-yo around the head, capturing each of the butterflies while panting, "Time…to…de-evilize!" The head roared in agony before the butterflies had all completely disappeared.
Alya stood where the head once was, and looked out to all the citizens who had watched. "Let me make one thing clear, people of Paris," she declared, "Scarabella and Chat Noir are gonna do everything in our power to protect this city from any evil who wants to do us harm!" She opened her yo-yo and released a large group of white butterflies, who dispersed all over Paris. The citizens cheered on their new guardians.
"Scarabella…That's her name…" Chat Noir spoke, admirably.
Stoneheart finally rose up, and Scarabella and Chat Noir leaped in front of him. "You'll never take Mylène from me!" he roared, "Come to me, my stone beings!" He, along with the other stone beings, began climbing up the tower. "We're surrounded!" Chat Noir said, "What do we do now? We can't attack him."
"We need to find a way to get that akuma." Scarabella said.
"It must be in the same hand he's holding Mylene. No way he's going to let go of her."
"Well, we better figure that out, then." Scarabella and Chat Noir followed Stoneheart to the top of the Eiffel Tower.
"Help! I'm scared of heights!" Mylene cried out.
"Don't worry! We'll get you somewhere safe!" Scarabella responded before looking around her. "Somehow…"
"Any Miraculous plan, Scarabella?" Chat Noir asked.
"I think this calls for my…Lucky Charm!" After calling upon her superpower, a red parachute with black spots was summoned, which Scarabella caught with her right hand. "A…parachute?" she asked.
"Uh, how's a parachute supposed to help us get the akuma?" Chat Noir asked.
Scarabella shrugged before looking around her. The only thing that stood out to her was the stone beings and Stoneheart, who was still holding Mylene captive. She gasped as she finally came up with an idea. Scarabella landed next to Chat Noir. She winked as she said, "Get ready."
"Huh?" Chat Noir responded. Shortly afterward, he found himself being hurled at Stoneheart similarly as he was the first time. Stoneheart had let go of his grip on his left arm, causing him to fall off the Eiffel Tower. As he fell, he let go of both Mylene and a purple object that contained the akuma.
Scarabella leaped off the tower and wrapped her yo-yo around Mylene. "Chat Noir, grab that purple rock!" Scarabella commanded. Chat Noir nodded and let go of the railing. He glided past Scarabella and Stoneheart and held the purple object close to him. He extended his staff and slid down to the ground before retracting it. Meanwhile, Scarabella activated the parachute, slowly lowering both her and Mylene down to safety, while Stoneheart fell straight down to the ground with a hard thud. Chat Noir chucked the purple object onto the ground, breaking it into pieces and releasing the akuma.
"No more evil doing for you, little akuma," Scarabella declared as she split open her yo-yo. She swung it around before crying, "Time to de-evilize!" and tossed it towards the fleeing butterfly, capturing it in her yo-yo. The yo-yo closed itself and Scarabella caught it with her right hand as she exclaimed, "Gotcha!" She tapped on the yo-yo, releasing a now purified akuma, and said, "Bye bye, little butterfly." She took off the parachute and tossed it in the air as she exclaimed, "Miraculous Scarabella!" The parachute then transformed into tiny ladybugs, which then dispersed across Paris, repairing all the damages made during the akuma attack.
"Woah, are you seeing what I'm seeing?" Chat Noir asked in awe.
"Yeah. It's amazing! It's beautiful! It's…miraculous!" Scarabella exclaimed. Once the ladybugs had finished repairing everything, Scarabella decided to talk to the two students to get to the bottom of things. "Tell me, what happened that made you get all riled up again, Ivan?" Ivan sheepishly glanced at Mylene before mumbling something under his breath. "What was that?" Scarabella asked.
"My song…" Ivan mumbled, pointing to the crumpled piece of paper Scarabella was holding. Scarabella straightened it out and read it, realizing that Ivan had written a love song for Mylene.
"Aw, this is sweet," Scarabella cooed as she showed Mylene.
Mylene grabbed the paper and read the lyrics. She soon was touched by Ivan's words as well. "Wow, it's really beautiful," Mylene complimented, "It's a shame you can't hear them when you scream. I mean, when you sing."
"It was scary, wasn't it?" Ivan asked, "Is that why you left? I'm sorry, I'll be gentle." Mylene responded by giving Ivan a warm hug.
"Heh, your crazy plan actually worked," Chat Noir said as he raised a fist for Scarabella.
She looked at it for a bit before raising her fist as well. The two of them bumped fists as they exclaimed, "Pound it!"
"Hope to see you soon, Scarabella," Chat Noir said before bowing and running off.
"Not too soon, I hope," Scarabella smirked before running off. She hid in the subway station and waited for all five of the black dots to disappear before she detransformed. "That. Was. Crazy!" she exclaimed.
"Mhm, it sure was," Tikki responded, a bit exhausted.
"Oh right, I need to feed you something, right?" Tikki nodded as her stomach growled. "Hold on, I can probably find you something back at school."
"So, by the time I went to the Eiffel Tower, it was all over. I'm way bummed," Alya explained to Marinette on their way back to school.
"Don't worry. You'll get your scoop eventually," Marinette reassured her.
"Maybe. But, maybe I should start being more careful too?"
"Yeah, I definitely agree."
"Oh yeah, by the way," Alya showed off her earrings, which were golden, and finished, "Thanks for the earrings, Marinette."
"Huh? Me? I-I don't know what you're talking about! Heh…"
"Don't worry, girl. Tikki told me everything. And I promise, I won't let you down! I'll be the best Ladybug ever!"
"Thank you, Alya, but if anything, I shouldn't be the one to let you down. I hope I made the right choice…"
"You made an excellent choice," Tikki chimed in from Alya's pant pocket.
"Thanks, Tikki," Marinette responded, "I hope you're right. And, I'm really sorry I couldn't be the one."
"It's okay, Marinette. Not everyone is cut out to be a hero, and that's okay!"
"Yeah girl, don't sweat it," Alya agreed.
Once the two of them walked into the classroom, Marinette made her way to their seat, but Alya stopped her and dragged her to the seat they were originally going to sit in. "As long as I'm around, I'm not going to let anyone push you or me around."
When Chloe came in, she noticed Marinette and Alya in her seat and immediately demanded them to move. Marinette fought with herself to not submit to Chloe, and Alya knew she was struggling. She nudged Marinette and whispered, "More confidence, remember?" Marinette smiled and nodded before turning back to Chloe and requoting what Alya had told her when they first met: "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil, is that good people do nothing!"
"What is that supposed to mean?" Chloe asked.
"It means that I'm not putting up with your crud anymore, Chloé, and neither is anyone else around here, so take your attitude and go on, get lost!" The other students laughed as Chloe snarled, sitting at her old seat.
"Good job!" Alya praised, fist bumping Marinette. Adrien soon stepped inside the classroom and waved at Marinette, who huffed and ignored him instead. After school, Alya waved Marinette goodbye and walked home, sneaking a piece of cookie out with her for Tikki.
As Tikki chowed on the cookie, she asked, "So, what do you think, Alya? Are you cut out to be a superhero?"
"Heck yeah, I am!" Alya answered enthusiastically, "Man, today was so awesome! Having superpowers! Fighting bad guys! It's all just a dream come true!" Alya continued raving about being a superhero to Tikki as she made her way home.
End.
