Her face burst into a gold glow, and she doubled over, then straightened up rigid as the glow intensified. Cass started back with a little cry of alarm and shielded her face against the radiance. The intense force of the Doctor's regeneration knocked her back as the room filled with the golden light of her regeneration, Cass tried to look back at The Doctor but was forced to turn away from the blinding light.

Eventually the The brilliant glow gradually began to subside. Cass's eyes still stung from the intensity of the Doctor's regeneration. Looking up, she blinked her eyes rapidly to clear them, and once she was able to see better, Cass found a new person standing before her wearing the Doctor's clothes. The Doctor had regenerated!

The newly regenerated Doctor looked back at her, eyebrow raised, The new Doctor began to walking slowly towards her when she abruptly yelped, and began hopping in place, tugging on her boot. "Ow ow ow ow!"

Cass was feeling bit overwhelmed. Stepping forward, she said. "What's wrong? You alright?"

The Doctor tugged off her boot, tossing it away as she murmured. "Tight.. too tight! Squished toes!: Tugging off the other boot, she let out a sigh of relief, wiggling toes as she tossed the other boot away too. "Aaaahhh! Much better!" The Doctor bounced happily on her toes. "Well!" the Doctor said with a soft when the golden glow had receded. "Now THAT was definitely new! ! Oooh!" The Doctor shivered, raising her hands. Her hands were still glowing with a golden hue: "Still tingly!" Suddenly, she looked like she was going to be sick and she hurriedly put a hand to her lips. However, instead of vomiting, a small gust of golden dust escaped her mouth. "Now my teeth are tingly too! Definitely new."

"Now, where was I? Oh right, body checks! Okay, Eyes." She placed her hands over eyes, "Ah two..Yay, off to a good start!" She then proceeded to pinch and squeeze her nose inquiringly. "Nose..ooooooo! Bit skinny but definitely an improvement!" The Doctor then reached back to feel her ears. "Ears – not bad, had worse..least they're not pointy. Oohhh, right way up too, that's a definite plus." The Doctor ran her hands over her face. "Now the face. Yes, got one..Brill! Now, that definitely would have been awkward. Bit delicate though, isn't it?" A look of comprehension slowly crossed her face. "Ooooooohhh, right! Still a girl then. I think.." The Doctor then non-chalantly peeked down the front of shirt, murmuring. "Yep, still a girl. Woman. She..stupid pronouns." The Doctor then noticed her companion's expression. "What? Just making sure..never know, always a bit of a lottery with these things. Tricky business regenerations." She then ran her hands through her hair. "Now, onto the hair. Hair..hair...hair." The Doctor ruffled her hair, obviously happy with her hair. "Oh, the hair. Lots.." She pulled down a lock of a hair, a look of horror crossing her face as she exclaimed. "Oh, no! Oh no!"

Cass was finding herself further bewildered by the new Doctor's behavior. "Are you ok? What's wrong?"

The Doctor pointed at her hair. "The ging! I've the lost the ging! Look!" She then stretched out a lock of her hair. "No more ginger!" Her voice became sulkier, as she muttered sullenly. "I liked being ginger, took ages to be ginger, then..poof! Gone. " She then muttered under her breath. "Figures."

Cass tried to cheer the Doctor up. "Well, I think it suits you."

The Doctor gave her an appraising look. "Really?" She then tugged a lock down again, her voice slightly less sulky. "Huh, maybe"

Cass took the opportunity to take in The Doctor's new self. She appeared to be a slender woman in her early thirties possessing a slender, graceful figure with an athletic build. She had pert lips, a noble brow and fair skin, with long straight light brown hair that fell past shoulders, and beautiful honey brown eyes.

Cass was beginning to wonder even more about the Doctor's emotional, if not mental state. "Doctor, Are you sure you're okay?"

The Doctor let go off her hair, as she pondered her companion's question. Was she okay? "Possibly.", she said distractedly. "Not sure yet, still settling in. Do I look all right to you?"

Cass wasn't sure what to say, but tried anyway. "I..I guess so."

"Guess?", said the Doctor. "Not much of a pep talk. Needs work.."

Cass muttered. "Sorry, Doctor.."

The Doctor noticed her companion's conflicted expression. "Oh..Sorry..sorry..so rude. And snappy...snappy and rude, rude and snappy, not a good combination." The Doctor rushed over, and gave Cass a big hug. "Hey! Still a hugger. Nice!" The Doctor then stepped back again, and flashed Cass a big reassuring smile while giving her a double thumbs up, but then noticed that Cass only looked slightly bewildered and confused instead. So, The Doctor gripped Cass by the shoulders reassuringly. "Breathe, deep breathes..enhance your calm. Better?"

Cass simply nodded, while keeping eye contact with the Doctor. This Doctor's eyes matched this time.

The Doctor clapped her hands together happily. "Excellent, now let's start again, shall we? Doctor..:" She pointed at herself. "Companion.." The Doctor then pointed at Cass. "Oh wait! No, not companion. No no no..too many connotations, could be embarrassing. Angry mothers for one, quite slappy..." The Doctor crossed her wrms, and tapped her chin with her finger as she mussed out loud. "Hmmm, friend then? Too vague? Mate? No no, definitely not..worse than companion. Definite connotations." The Docotr began to pace as she continued with her musing. "Hmmm..err..Pal..chum..Bestie? Bff? Work with me here!"

Despite herself, Cass couldn't help but laugh. "Ah ha!", exclaimed The Doctor happily. "Smiles..I like smiles, smiles are good, and yours is rather nice, if you don't mind me saying. Should do it more". She then clapped her hands together gleefully. "Now where were we? Ooohhh right!" The Doctor then pointed at her own face. "How's the face? Seems alright, but then again, I'm on the inside looking out, so you know..maybe experiencing skewed perspectives. Possibly.." She then began to make various expressions as if she were trying out her new facial features. "Quite responsive, though. Rather like that. So, tell me, how is it?"

"It's…well..okay."

The Doctor arched an eyebrow as she crossed her rms again. "Okay? Is it all in proportion? Don't want to look like a Picasso, now do I?"

"It's a bit." Cass said unsuredly. "You know."

The Doctor sighed dramatically. "Nooooooo! I don't know, that's why I was asking you..skewed perspectives."

Cass crossed her arms, turning her back to the Doctor with her eyes downcast. "Sorry. Doctor. Just it's a bit of a..well, you know, a shock." Turning back around again, she noticed the Doctor hurriedly tucking her arm behind her back guiltily.

"What the..", exclaimed Cass. "What were you doing?"

The Doctor smiled innocently. "Huh? Me? Oh, nothing."

Cass narrowed her eyes at the Doctor accusingly, before murmuring. "Oh-kay." She then turned and began to make her way around the console. Behind her back, The Doctor pumped her fist and mouthed, "Yes!" The Doctor was happy to have realized this incarnation was taller than her previous self. Only slightly so, but still counted. When Cass turned back around once again, The Doctor was casually leaning against the console with one hand while placing her other hand on her hip.

Cass was really beginning to worry about the Doctor now. Was this a weird side effect of her regeneration or something? "Uhm..Doctor, you sure you're alright?"

The Doctor spun back around to face Cass. "Hmmm? Oh, sorry." The Doctor glanced over the console controls, as she spoke. "Always takes time to adjust, you know." She awkwardly flailed her arms and legs. "New limbs.." She then eagerly wiggled and flexed her fingers, then stopped abruptly. "Hang on hang on!" Suddenly, she began to sniff the air. "What is that?" The Doctor then began to look around the console room, a bewildered look on her face.

Cass leaned ln the console, as she looked around the console room frantically. First, the Doctor has regenerated, and now this? This day was definitely getting worse.
"What is it? Is there a problem with the Tardis or something?"

"Not sure. An aroma of some sort.." She then began to sniff herself. "Not me."

Cass jumped, yelping as The Doctor sniffed her next. "Whoa..whoa! Did you just smell me?

The Doctor appeared to be oblivious to her outburst, as she broke into a smile and said excitedly. "Oh! It's you. You're all.. flowery!"

Cass was confused. Flowery? Ooohhh wait, could she mean.."Wait..What? Oh! Do you mean my perfume?"

Now it was the Doctor's turn to look confused. "Perfume?"

Cass stepped closer toward the Doctor, who was leaning against the console with her hand to her head. She spoke softly, trying not to upset her "You got it for me, remember?"

The Doctor jumped up, hands out in front of her defensively. "Whoa, wait..What? Hold on..When? I just got here!"

"What?!"

"Sorry, sorry. Forgot for a moment." The Doctor lightly tapped side of the side of her head. "Still in transition..past and present.." She raised her hands and locked her fingers together to emphasize her point. "blurring together" She then separated her hands again. "Quite distracting. Bound to take a bit of time to get used to, for both of us." She reached up to pull Cass closer and pressed her forehead against her own. "But I do know one thing, for sure.." The Doctor flashed her companion a reassuring smile, a smile that Cass couldn't help but return.

"What's that?", asked Cass.

The Doctor's smile widened, as her eyes gleamed with excitement and mischief. "It's gonna be quite a ride.." The Doctor gripped the dematerialization lever. "Look out universe! It's a new day! A new Me!" She then yanked the lever down, dematerializing the Tardis. "And I'm just getting started, bay-bay!"
