The door was kicked open and Billy pulled Rebecca into the room and slammed the door behind him.
"Was it necessary to drag me by my arm?" The S.T.A.R.S. medic wasn't too happy about that as she was also armed with a 9mm pistol and could have seen herself in. She had been trained to after all.
The storm outside intensified and Billy was drenched in rainwater. Water drifted down his muscular arms and tattoos, and Rebecca found herself to be looking away to avoid him seeing her blush.
"Sorry, doll face, but things are a bit of a hell right now and I didn't want to wait for the cop to do her job." He went around the room and barricaded the door by dragging a sofa in front of it. Then he locked the door with all the locks it had on it.
Again Rebecca didn't like how he treated her in this situation. "That's Officer Chambers to you, and I can handle myself thank you very much."
Billy wasn't quite believing her, and from what he remembered on the train she could to an extent but it wasn't a stretch when he thought that she'd be dead if he hadn't been around. "And if pigs could fly they'd go right up your skirt. If you wore one."
Putting her hands on her hips, her right hand holding her STARS issued pistol, she scoffed at him. "Excuse me?"
He ignored her and went to check the rest of the room. From the looks of it the place was an art room of sorts, with statues and paintings lining the walls as well as other pieces of expensive looking decor. The room was huge and well-lit and pieces of expensive furniture were to be found everywhere. There were windows taller than Billy and he was no small man, but they were covered with curtains.
"Must be old man Marcus' private exhibit."
Billy put his pistol in the waistband of his jeans behind his back, keeping himself alert but relaxing enough to where he could take his time.
Rebecca joined him in spite of him ignoring her. Her attention was on the statues. All of them shared a common theme, and that was they were made up mostly of nude women. Seriously? People think nude women is something to gawk at?
Rebecca knew people had their opinions but being a woman herself she couldn't bear to have men looking her up and down even as a statue.
Yet as she walked along the path she came to the largest statue of them all in the center of the room. It was of a man with angel wings holding a woman in a rather provocative pose and, no surprise, both were nude. A golden plaque was at the base.
"'The Sons of God Saw the Daughters of Men That They Were Fair'..." Rebecca looked up and saw that the woman appeared to be in rapture within the angel's grasp and she had to bring her arms up to her chest. Surely she could see it as romantic in some circles but again this was art and the artist had the right to do what he or she wanted.
Despite that Rebecca wondered what was going through the woman's mind as she was there with such a handsome man. Did she know if she was in danger or not? She brought a hand to her chin and thought on it some more.
"What you looking at doll?"
Rebecca didn't admonish Billy this time. She was too into what she was looking at. "I kind of like this one."
Billy peered up at the statue and though he kept it to himself he was impressed. "Hm, I do too..."
He turned to Rebecca, "At least it isn't so showy and has a taste to it."
She felt his eyes on her and without flinching she tried to change the topic, "Find anything else to worry about?"
"No, the place is locked tight. Only one door to go through to get in and since we're on the second floor if anything wants to get in through the windows they'd have to be flying. I think we're good for now."
Rebecca liked that. "Then maybe we can actually rest..."
"And I know the perfect place."
She turned to Billy, "Huh? What do you mean?"
He motioned with his head, "Follow me. You'll love this."
Wondering what he could mean Rebecca followed him around the statue and towards the back. Another set of doors were at the back and when Billy opened them to show what was inside she almost gasped. Turns out the room was home to a Victorian styled bedroom that was red and white, the colors of the Umbrella Corporation. It also looked like it hadn't been touched in like forever. Statues of nude goddesses were in the corners and even a large painting of Venus bathing in a spring was on the wall.
"Looks like a fancy European bedroom," said Billy, only suspecting this from books he had seen in a library during his military career. He had been to Germany a couple times on top of it so that helped. As he had thought Rebecca was enamored with what she saw. Much like a little girl in a candy shop she eagerly took to looking over nook and piece of art.
"Wow...this is great," she said with admiration to the room, which was quite a change from the drudgery and misery of the locales she had seen up to this point.
Then Billy added a cherry on top to his finding. "There's also a master bath through that door over there-"
"Really?!"
Rebecca saw an open door from when Billy had investigated earlier. Sure enough when she peeked inside the first thing she saw was a large porcelain tub surrounded by red curtains and more nude statues. To the keen eye it resembled more of a Turkish bath than a Victorian one. Also like the bedroom it looked as if it hadn't been touched in forever.
"Damn," said the girl, letting her enthusiasm for the spectacle before her put her guard down. "Too bad we can't enjoy this while we're here."
"Who says we can't?"
Rebecca turned around with confusion in her eyes, eyeing Billy with a perplexed look. "Um, because we're in a fight or flight for our survival. That's why we can't-"
"Right now we're pretty safe. So I say if you want to enjoy the place while we have the time, then I say go ahead, doll."
He sounded very convincing to her and while her professional opinion would be to keep her head on straight and survive, in the back of the female cop's mind there was a little voice crying out for a soak in that bath she had seen. She and Billy had been fighting tooth and nail since the Ecliptic Express against all kinds of monsters and never had a moment of rest. Now might be the only time they'd be able to...
She nodded, "Alright then. I'll take you up on that offer." She walked past him and over to the feather bed, setting her pistol on the bedside table. Then a realization hit her and she turned around, noticing that Billy was watching her intently. Was it just her imagination, or was there a hint of a smile on the former soldier's face?
Clearing her throat Rebecca spoke in an authoritative tone, "Ahem, could you please leave?"
Shaking his head, Billy crossed his arms over his chest, inadvertently showing off the tribal tattoos he had on his well-toned arms. "You think I'm going to sneak a peek on you? You're cute and all but I would never stoop that low."
A little red formed in Rebecca's cheeks. While she was an officer of the law, she was in essence, still a young woman with very little combat experience and even less so in dealing with situations like this. Especially when dealing with men. And Billy was no ordinary man.
Still, she tried to maintain her composure. "I'd much rather you keep watch until I am done. That means leave the room."
Sighing with no way to convince her otherwise, Billy put his hands up. "Right. I'll go into the next room, but the moment something is wrong I am busting down doors. And I don't care if you're stark naked when it happens either."
He went out of the room without another word, and yet if he had seen the look on Rebecca's face he would laughed at the shade of red her face had turned.
As soon as Billy was gone Rebecca huffed and turned back to the bathroom and the waiting comfort of a relaxing bath. Then she started to remove her uniform.
Billy found what he thought was a lobby in front of a fireplace not far from the bedroom Rebecca had decided to use. Like the bedroom it was Victorian in design and was like one of those smoking rooms the gentlemen would excuse themselves to when they wanted to play cards or something while the women were in another room. He sat down in the lone chair in front of the fireplace, which he had started while he had waited.
He kept his pistol in his hand while he stared at the fire. A light smile still crossed his lips.
"Can't believe she reacted to me like that."
Had she honestly thought he would be a lech and sneak a peek on her? Is that why she forced him to leave? Again, he wondered how that girl ever became a cop in the first place.
'No doubt it was because of her brain and not her skill with a gun,' he thought, and that he knew was true. Compared to him she was like an inexperienced toddler with a gun and more than once he had to make up for her questionable marksmanship. She had always told him she could take care of herself, but he had always been there to help regardless.
A few minutes passed and the man closed his eyes. Not to sleep, but to think and the first thing that popped into his brain was Rebecca's face. She'd flash him a smile every once in a while to let him know that she appreciated his help, regardless if she had wanted it or not. And that smile always caught Billy's eyes like a sailor would be to a siren of myth.
His eyes shot open. 'Who am I kidding? Rebecca Chambers isn't the most gorgeous woman I have ever laid eyes on but...'
He couldn't help but think that she was attractive in a physical sense. Maybe it was the tomboyish stubborn attitude that he found magnetizing? The fact that she was tougher than she looked helped as well. She didn't constantly call out to him to help every waking moment and that was a good thing. Also, he wasn't an idiot. He knew from the way she looked at him from time to time that the attraction went both ways. He pulled her along on that at first, just for fun, but even he wondered how long he could keep that up.
He got out of the chair and paced around the room, wondering how much longer that she'd be. He chuckled, "Women and their baths, she'll probably take her time and say it was worth every damn second."
"It was worth every damn second," said Rebecca as she took got out of the bathtub, every inch of her frame drenched from spending so much time in the tub. The bottoms of her feet were tickled by the plush carpet and that added to the smile she had on her face. Now she felt like she could take on the world, what with her body feeling more loose than before after that bath.
Stretching her arms over her head, Rebecca saw her reflection in the mirror, clouded by steam and went to wipe it away to get a better look at herself. The majority of her skin was still red from the hot bath but there wasn't any dirt or grime on her. She felt like a whole new woman.
She felt so good that she hung a towel around her shoulders and left the bathroom without drying off or even putting on clothes. Sure she had found a bathrobe and had thought about putting it on but as she was by herself behind locked doors she didn't see any alarm. And she still had access to her firearm so she'd be able to defend herself should the need arise.
She opened the door to enter the bathroom, the initial cool air did little to hurt her mindset while her skin chilled, with goosebumps going along her entire form. She went straight for the bed where her uniform and other garments were laid out, and that was when she noticed something was off. Out of the peripheral of her eye she noticed the large French styled windows lining the wall of the bedroom and one of them was open. They hadn't been like that when she and Billy had been talking earlier...
As soon as she went forward to close the windows was when it struck. A grotesque zombie in a tattered and bloody black tuxedo came at Rebecca and she only had time to raise her hands to prevent the zombie from biting down on her neck. She screamed, unable to get her pistol pointed in the right direction.
Literally within seconds of her scream the main entry door was kicked open. It almost flew off the hinges from the force of Billy's kick. He came in with his pistol held high, his eyes narrowed in a glare, and he fired the moment he got a lock. The gunshot was loud and Rebecca flinched after the bullet impacted the zombie's right temporal lobe. Blood splattered onto her left shoulder and Rebecca roughly pushed the zombie back. As a result of her frantic actions and the open window the once again dead corpse went out over the edge and down into the darkened abyss below.
Billy wasted little time in closing the window and locking it. "How did I know that just by leaving you alone you'd be a magnet for trouble."
He turned in time to find an obviously angry Rebecca staring back at him, cheeks red as apples and both hands at her chest holding the towel. In her right hand she held her pistol, and upon closer inspection Billy noticed that the towel she held wasn't wrapped around her body anymore. No doubt it had come undone when the zombie attacked. To be polite he looked away.
"You alright?"
"Y-Yeah, I'm alright..." she tried to keep her hands from shaking but to no avail.
Sensing how awkward she was feeling Billy tried to move past and get to the door but found himself stopping when his shoulder brushed hers. Then he looked down and knew he had made a huge mistake. He saw her face, red from shame and embarrassment, but he also saw her bust. She wasn't a super model in terms of proportions, but she was still pretty well endowed for Billy's tastes. That and her heavy breathing made her chest even more magnetizing to his eyes.
And yet as much as she despised it, Rebecca could only look away, unable to bring words out. To tell him to get away would have been her first response but she just couldn't open her mouth to speak. Just to breathe took all of her power.
Shaking his head, Billy tried to move again, "Sorry, just...been a long time."
"Since what?" Asked Rebecca, acting on reflex instead of genuine curiosity.
"Since I saw a gorgeous woman. I've been in prison for a while, you know..." Billy wasn't lying. Ever since the incident he had been on death row and had not so much seen a picture of a woman. Thus, when presented with a picturesque body of one like now he couldn't help responded. Granted on the outside he was flustered, at least Rebecca couldn't see how his body was reacting to her state. Needless to say, his pants were feeling really tight right now.
The medic felt a bit more embarrassed at his compliment. "Oh...I don't think im that beautiful."
"Trust me, you should give yourself some credit," Billy replied truthfully.
"Huh...first time I've ever been called gorgeous..."
"And you are-damn it..." That last part slipped out of Billy's mouth before he could realize what he was saying.
He didn't want to make her feel even weirder, but he knew he was digging himself a deeper hole with each word.
Rebecca tried to get herself out of said hole.
"Coming from a guy as handsome as you...shit..." She just made it worse. She too couldn't help but feel a biological reaction to Billy. He didn't know it but as much as she tried to fight it, she couldn't help but admire the physique he had, especially when his shirt was damp and tight to his muscled chest. Her groin was uncomfortably hot, and her nipples were hard under the towel.
The physical attraction between the two was as obvious as a smack to the face. The only question was who would make the first move, if any.
Turns out it wasn't a conscious decision.
Rebecca looked up at Billy whose eyes were narrowed down at her. At first she thought he was just going to glare at her and she looked away again. That and she took one step back, intending to run away, but to her absolute shock Billy grabbed her arm and pulled her back to him. The sudden movement caused not only to drop her gun but the towel as well. Her naked chest slammed into him and before she could call out his name she was silenced by his lips brushing hers. The light contact of the kiss, desperate and quick, stopped her entire train of thought.
Billy himself didn't seem to grasp what he had just done, and when he pulled back he started to freak out. "I'm so sorry!"
If he expected Rebecca to be upset, he was mildly confused when she just stood there, staring at him with starry eyes.
Then she giggled before going into a full blown laugh.
Ready for her to explode, Billy asked, "What?"
"That was my first kiss and-damn it was weird!"
This time Billy turned red in the face. Not just from her admitted her first kiss was by him, but also her review of his act. "H-Hey it was mine too! At least in years! Gimme a break!"
Then her laughing fit ceased and Rebecca spoke, "I wouldn't mind a redo."
To be honest she surprised even herself at what she said, but Billy panicked and pulled her in again, one well-muscled arm around her waist while the other was at her cheek. The kiss was forceful at first, but soon grew into a soft action that was simply irresistible for Rebecca. Because Billy was taller than her Rebecca had to get on the tips of her toes to assist him.
Yet her eyes closed tightly when she felt a hand on her lower back go lower. Sure she wore a pair of white panties but she had never been touched intimately before, and thus each caress was a new experience for her.
She waited for the kiss to end but instead Billy kept giving into the tension he had built up. Not that Rebecca blamed him since she couldn't bring herself to back away. Then, as if to help with the height difference as well as to give her a shock, Billy grabbed hold of her waist band and pulled up.
Rebecca groaned into his lips and her back arched as the garment was wedged between her cheeks. She was almost on the very tips of her toes when Billy pulled up again. This time she moaned, even more so when she felt both of his calloused hands go to her bottom and fondled her. Soon though her arms wrapped around Billy's neck and gave her the support they both needed to continue. Not only that, but after she got her legs straight again Billy helped get one to wrap around one of his own legs, adding further support for him.
Only when they both needed to breathe did their lips part. Rebecca had nearly been smothered by the act, not to mention the fondling his hands did when she wasn't paying attention. Billy, meanwhile, held onto her like she was a feather.
Still, he felt more confident in himself this time, and he let it show on his face. "How was that, doll face?"
Rebecca panted, her hot breath grazing his face, "Damn...much better..."
Then Billy smiled, "I'll make it better. Hold on."
Before she could ask what he meant Rebecca gasped as Billy got his other arm under her leg and hoisted her up. She was forced to wrap her legs around his hips to support herself, but she got extra 'help' as Billy's hands had a hold of her thighs.
"There, that's better, isn't it?" He said with a smirk.
The medic gulped, not knowing what to expect next. "Um...yeah, passed with flying colors..."
Billy had the right idea and carried Rebecca over to the bed. Her heart pounding, Rebecca knew there was nothing she could do to stop him. Not that she wanted to, truth be told, and she wouldn't.
Monsters be damned, she was going to have just a taste of heaven, at least for a short while.
And Billy would see to that. With extreme pleasure.
