15 years since the death of Padme Amidala and the birth of Darth Vader.

1 ABY - Tatooine.

Life on the farm on Tatooine hadn't always been the easiest for the twins. There were many times when Leia missed her father and couldn't bear the thought of who he had become and there were many times when Luke mourned Padme and life without his mother. Though the twins struggled with their losses at 5 years old, they were grateful that their parents had at least managed to reunite them before they died. They were grateful for their Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru who stuck to their word and took them in as their own. Without them, neither of them really knew where they would have been. Still, it didn't make it any less hard.

Luke and Leia clashed at times, since she wanted to forget their past whereas Luke wanted to keep the memory of their parents going. Leia's excuse was, 'I never knew my mom and I will not associate myself with the Sith.' Stubborn was to say the very least and I wonder who she got that from.

Now at 20 years old and after 15 years of hiding, both Luke and Leia wanted more than this life on a farm on a sandy planet that just existed. No, Leia was a natural born leader and wanted to make something of herself. She knew she couldn't just sit around and let the galaxy fear the terrible duo that was Darth Sidious and Darth Vader. Though Vader was her father, she saw him as nothing but an evil man who killed her father and destroyed her heart. She always believed that if Anakin had truly loved her, then he would have found another way. That he would have found a way to overcome the darkness and defeat the Emperor, but he didn't and so, how could he have loved her more than his power?!

Luke also felt like his place in this world was more than just fixing droids and getting his hands dirty on the sandy farm. He loved his uncle, his aunt and his sister but he knew he was meant for more than just being a nobody. He was the son of Queen Padme Amidala and Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker for goodness sake, he was meant for so much more than this. The only problem was, he wasn't quite sure what that was.

Though she had always been beautiful, as the years went by and as she got older, Leia grew into her beauty and looked so much like Padme, yet had the cheeky, charming smile of Anakin. She had his personality a lot too, she was more Anakin's daughter than she was Padme's, however, there were moments when Padme crept through in her and Luke thought it was strange how she could be so much like someone she had never really met. Luke looked a lot like Anakin, having his dirty blonde hair just like Anakin had when he was a child. He had his eyes and his face shape, but Padme's kind, angelic face. He was a sweetheart and truly was his mother, but his drive - though not filled with darkness - was much like Anakin's.

Owen and Beru watched the twins grow up, at one point in their lives they had both known Anakin and Padme and it was so bittersweet to watch their children grow up and be exactly like them in every way, yet be completely their own person. Like the perfect combination of both Senator and Jedi. Ben had watched from afar too, to make sure they were always safe. It was hard for him to watch his friend's children grow up without them, especially when he saw how happy they were that night on Polis Massa. They had had big plans, they were going to move to Naboo, raise the children by the lake and next to the waterfall and the gardens where they wed. They were going to wait until the children were old enough to go to school and have another, or maybe a couple more. They were going to have another wedding and celebrate it properly with the people they loved most around them. Anakin was going to become a royal guard for the Queen of Naboo whilst Padme would serve under her reign as a Senator of Naboo. The children would go to school and grow up in the natural beauty of Naboo, they would learn to fix things, help one another and be true leaders but they would be the most loving family and Ben wished it was that he was watching rather than seeing what he was seeing now.

As the binary sunset began to form in the night sky, lighting up the Tatooine plains and beaming down a soothing cool heat, Leia sat on the sand dunes, running her hand through her hair. She watched the sunset almost every night, something her and Anakin used to do when she was a child, though she wasn't intentionally trying to keep up with tradition, watching the sunset reminded her of the good her father was and just for a moment banished all the bad that came with being his daughter. She didn't even need to turn around to know that her brother was behind her. Letting out a soft sigh, she ran her hand through her hair once more. "I'm meant for more than this, Luke." She said softly. "I'm meant for more than just sand dunes and vaporators." Leia added once more referring to the fact they were living on a moisture farm and collected a lot of water for the village nearby.

Luke just listened and nodded his head, watching his sister from behind. "I know you are." He said softly, truthfully. Leia finally turned to him, arching her brow ever so slightly.

"Do you not feel it? Like, we were both meant for something more?" She asked her brother, with a pleading look on her face.

"I do, I just…" He paused for a moment. "This is all we've known, Leia. What if we never find out what we are truly meant for?" He asked, he had his hesitations and with every right as well, they weren't just nobodies after all.

"I'd rather go out there and find that I was meant for nothing then stay here and never know what good I could have done." She whispered softly.

"What about Uncle Owen? And Aunt Beru?" Luke asked, he was a family man, he loved them and didn't want to let them down. Leia just sighed softly and ran her hand over her face.

"Luke, this galaxy has spent the last 15 years in fear of what's out there. No one can communicate with one another, supplies are running low, people are being executed at every minute and planets are being destroyed or turned into bases for the Empire to grow that much stronger." She said simply. "There is no one out there who is willing to stand up and fight against them and I for one do not want to sit here and live in fear anymore. I've spent all my life running and hiding and living in fear of what is out there. We've been running away from all of this since we were 2 days old. We've been hiding on this planet ever since we were 5 years old and I'm tired of it. Instead of running away from it, we should run to it." she swallowed hard. "So, even if I become nothing and gain nothing. At least I can say that I tried." She said simply. Luke just looked at her and smiled softly, she was always so passionate.

"Okay…" He whispered.

"Okay?" She questioned, finding it hard to believe that her timid twin brother was willing to leave everything behind and face what was truly out there.

"Okay but we need to at least prepare ourselves first, we can't just go out there with no knowledge or basic defense skills." Luke said honestly. Leia nodded her head.

"Okay, we'll give it a month. A month to build up our strength, our stamina, find out as much as we can about what is going on and how to stop them, if there is anyone else out there willing to fight and then, then we go." She said softly, a natural born leader.

"Then we go." Luke smiled softly, though afraid he would stand by his sister and he would make a change.

Leia just smiled big and went to sit next to him, leaning her head on his shoulder. They were inseparable and if Padme had done one thing right before her death, it was reunite her babies. Her babies who had grown up so strong and wonderful, her babies who kept their promises to one another, to always look after one another and protect each other. Her babies who were stronger together and her babies who would change the fate of the entire galaxy together.

Her babies.
