1 ABY - Tatooine

Owen and Beru hadn't been completely thrilled about the twins decision to leave, however, they completely understood it. They weren't children anymore, so even if they did want to stop them, they couldn't. They were old enough to make their own decisions, they just hoped and prayed that they would survive all of this.

Luke and Leia did wait a month, they waited a month to build up their strength, their knowledge and devise a plan, then they set off. For now their plan was to just find out as much information as they possibly could, find ways to destroy the Empire.

"We're gonna need a better ship if we want to get out of here." Leia said to her brother softly, knowing what they were flying in wouldn't get them past the atmosphere.

"You know there is only one place to get a decent enough ship for a fair price." Luke added back, as he worked the controls.

"Then let's go." Leia said softly, watching as Luke changed courses and headed towards the part of the planet that was most commonly known as the 'wretched hive of scum and villainy.'

Arriving at the Major Spaceport on Tatooine, both Luke and Leia put their hoods up to somewhat protect them from the heat of the Tatooine sun. They looked around and Luke made sure he stayed close to his sister, wanting to keep her safe. Not that she couldn't handle herself, but he was the man and it was his duty to protect too.

"Alright, perhaps you should wait outside?" Luke asked her as they approached the Mos Eisley Cantina.

"Why?" Leia asked with an arched eyebrow. "You don't think I can handle myself?" She asked again, slightly offended.

"It's not you I'm concerned about." He said with a smirk nudging her slightly. "I know these guys take no prisoners and you can have quite the…temper at times."

"I do not have a temper." She said in a harsher tone, before stopping herself.

"We just need to make sure we don't get on the wrong side of anybody, okay?" He said to her softly. "I'm not here for any aggressive negotiations." He said, not realizing it was something his mother had said back on Geonosis when she fought alongside Anakin.

"Alright, alright. I'll be on my best behavior." She said with an eye roll, before they head inside the Cantina together.

"Well, doesn't look like anyone is scared of the Empire here." Luke said sarcastically, seeing the drinking, the gambling and dancing.

Leia leaned into him, "That's because they're all probably working for them." she whispered, "I'm going to get a drink." She added again before going to the bar. Luke just sighed watching his sister head off before looking around to see if he could find something or someone that could be of slight use.

"You selling something boy?" One of the creatures asked, he looked rough and almost as if he was on something.

"No.." Luke said, avoiding him immediately.

"What are you looking at?!" he heard another one say to him. Man this place was tough and he couldn't wait to get out. Finally, he went to the bartender and hoped that maybe he could help.

"Excuse me, I'm looking for help on getting a ship?" Luke asked so naively. The bartender just looked at him.

"I just serve drinks, kid." He added before ignoring him and turning back to his duties. Luke just slumped on the stool and sighed running his hand through his hair. It was only moments later that a man had approached him.

"Someone looking for a ship?" he asked. Luke looked up and arched his brow.

"Yes, do you know of one?" Luke asked hopefully. The man just sniggered slightly, "Do I know one?" He laughed. "Grab a drink, we'll talk business." He said simply before going to sit down waiting for Luke to come over. Once Luke had a drink, he looked over to see that Leia was safe before going over to the man.

"So, what's a kid like you wanting a ship for?" He asked simply, with an arched brow. Out of everyone here, this guy seemed normal and sane.

"I need a ship strong enough to travel across the galaxy and a ship fast enough to outrun any conflicts that we may run into along the way." Luke said simply, trying his best to negotiate.

"Well you're in luck, I happen to be captain of the fastest ship in the galaxy, that baby even outran imperial starships and I'm not talking the small kind, I'm talking the big corellian ships. She's fast enough kid, what's the cargo?" He asked. This man seemed to know business, making him fit in with the crowd so Luke knew he had to be careful here, Leia was usually the one who was better at negotiating.

"Passengers only." Luke said simply, sipping his rather questionable tasting drink.

"You doing some dodgy business kid because I ain't having that traced back to my ship." He asked him. Luke shook his head.

"No, I just want to avoid any imperial entanglements and the ship I currently have, well let's just say it wouldn't survive a hit from a blaster, nevermind an imperial fighter." Luke said with a shrug.

"Well, that's the real trick isn't it huh? And it's gonna cost you a little extra. 10,000 all in advance." He said simply. Leia had just heard the back end of the conversation and sat next to her brother with her drink in hand.

"10,000? What? Is it made of gold?" She said with a sarcastic smirk.

"Listen lady, let the men do the talking huh?" He said simply. Leia just arched her brow and went to say something but Luke stopped her.

"What my sister is trying to say is that we could buy our own ship for that. It's a lot of money." He said softly.

"Yeah but who's gonna fly it kid? From the looks of you two, neither of you have had much experience flying it past the dunes. You need a real pilot who knows how to fly across an imperial infested galaxy." He said simply.

Leia arched her brow, "and you think it could be you? We don't even know your name." Leia said simply, folding her arms.

"Han, Han Solo and you?" He asked just as simple, sitting back in his chair. He liked her attitude but she already annoyed the crap out of him.

"I'm Luke and this is my sister Leia." Luke said softly, introducing them.

"Well then Leia and Luke, what's the deal? Do you want my ship or not?" Han asked with a smirk. Leia did not like his arrogance at all.

"We'll pay you 3,000 now. The rest you can get when the job is done." She said simply.

"And how do I know you won't screw me over?" Han asked simply.

"Well, I guess we're just gonna have to trust each other now aren't we?" Leia said with a smirk, before getting up and leaving.

After negotiating a bit more, Han had finally agreed to the deal and was currently setting up his ship ready to take off. "Alright, before we go anywhere what's the real deal? If I'm getting involved in this, I want to know what's really going on." Han asked, more like demanded simply, leaning back in the piloting seat.

Leia just looked at Luke and arched her brow. "We're trying to gather a rebel alliance, to stop the Empire." Luke said softly, which caused Han to just laugh.

"You have got to be kidding me. This is a joke right?" He asked the pair of them. "You're a bunch of kids, you probably weren't even born by the time the Empire began." Han added.

"5 actually and if you must know, the Empire tore our family apart. Murdered our parents. So, it's about time someone finally puts all this to an end." Leia said bluntly, not in the mood to hear his sarcastic comments. Han just clenched his jaw and rolled his eyes.

"Fine, it's your death wish." He said under his breath. "Where to first?" He asked, ready to take off.

"Alderaan." Leia said simply. Luke arched his brow and looked at her, they hadn't agreed on Alderaan but he knew Leia knew something and he trusted her.
